You do know Trump’s Daughter Ivanka has Jewish In-Laws and that Ivanka herself converted to Judaism and Trump accepts them both, right?
I doubt Trump could keep breathing unless he had myriad cognitive dissonance during every thought.

I do remember Trump said HAPPEN TO BE JEWISH. Nobody would say happen to be English. It is a tell. I think a lot of wealthy people are bigots towards jews or outright racists but they see value in Jews as being more intelligent and being the best or among the best doctors, lawyers, accountants etc. Sometimes they think Jews have power that they obviously do not and that ties into the stereotypes and myths.
I don’t think Trump is Hitler either. But he is unpredictable and is in decline and giving him power again is a dicey proposition

Trump has no beliefs beyond believing in accruing power and wealth in order to feed his insatiable ego. Also, how deeply do you think his “Jewish” daughter and son-in-law believe the tenets of Judaism?
You’re being just a little disingenuous or naive. I’m thinking the former.
Also, for someone like Trump, it has nothing really to do with hating Jews himself. He just values whatever power might come from stoking antisemitism.
Besides, the Jews run the banks, right? LOL He likes banks.

Trump is a powermonger and Ivanka and Mr. Kuchner may not be observant of their professed Othodox Jewish Faith, but that still doesn’t make Donald J. Trump Anti-Jewish.
You’re being just a little disingenuous or naive. I’m thinking the former.
No, I’m just going on Objective Reality, that stuff that’s there when you sleep, there when you wake, and really doesn’t care what anyone thinks or feels.
And my way of going on Objective Reality is the evidence of the senses and Rational Thought, that faculty of humans that, to quote Bertrand Russell, “looks into the pit of Hell and is not afraid.”
And while Objective Reality doesn’t care whether I do Rational Thought, it does take a shine when I do.
That is both very ingenuous and nowadays very ingenius.
Jussie Smollett went around accusing people of being things they aren’t and doing things they didn’t and now look where he is. Watch and live and learn.
Also, for someone like Trump, it has nothing really to do with hating Jews himself. He just values whatever power might come from stoking antisemitism.
Besides, the Jews run the banks, right? LOL He likes banks.
Again, Trump is still not Anti-Jewish, though from the sounds of that, you may be either just pissing in the punch bowl or missing your chance to don a brown shirt or a Calypso Louie bow-tie.

March 22, 2024 at 5:22 am #53105Robert,
Trump has a platform of revenge and sucking up to xtian nationalists and dictators. Biden has a speech impediment.
Trumps impediment is ethical and moral and increasingly cognitive. Biden appeases Islamist, Communist, and Revanchist dictators and his “speech impediment” is the brain behind his speech.
The only difference in the candidates is the onset stage of the impediments, but they’ll catch up soon enough.
The smarter vote is not exactly rocket-science here.
The smartest vote is to support neither and focus on the decisions you make daily as opposed to decisions made every 2,4, or 6 years alongside millions of others that drown you out and dilute your decision.
Either candidate is going to be disasterous, but you don’t have to let either one destroy you. Work for the best, expect the worst, and prepare yourself and your friends and loved ones for both in your own individual lives and realms.
However, it is a nation chock-full of people mad about how stupid they are (as if Trump is going to fix that.) He does use 3rd grade vocabulary and basic utterances even they can understand.
Rudyard Kipling’s “If” is pretty good Standard Operating Procedure, as is “An ‘If’ for Girls” by Elizabeth Lincoln Otis, with all the skills, roles, and rules mentioned made for everyone and combined with having better tools in advance. We’re all going to need them!
“If”
by Rudyard KiplingIf you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools;If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!An “If” for Girls
by Elizabeth Lincoln Otis
(With apologies to Mr. Rudyard Kipling)
If you can dress to make yourself attractive,
Yet not make puffs and curls your chief delight;
If you can swim and row, be strong and active,
But of the gentler graces lose not sight;
If you can dance without a craze for dancing,
Play without giving play too strong a hold,
Enjoy the love of friends without romancing,
Care for the weak, the friendless and the old;If you can master French and Greek and Latin,
And not acquire, as well, a priggish mien,
If you can feel the touch of silk and satin
Without despising calico and jean;
If you can ply a saw and use a hammer,
Can do a man’s work when the need occurs,
Can sing when asked, without excuse or stammer,
Can rise above unfriendly snubs and slurs;
If you can make good bread as well as fudges,
Can sew with skill and have an eye for dust,
If you can be a friend and hold no grudges,
A girl whom all will love because they must;If sometime you should meet and love another
And make a home with faith and peace enshrined,
And you its soul—a loyal wife and mother—
You’ll work out pretty nearly to my mind
The plan that’s been developed through the ages,
And win the best that life can have in store,
You’ll be, my girl, the model for the sages—
A woman whom the world will bow before.

March 22, 2024 at 1:15 pm #53107Enco, I disagree with your lauding your inability to pick the best of two. Your sentiment will expire being uncounted and meaningless. Even more than my vote in a red state in this marginal democracy. I prefer Biden 10 raised to the 10,000th times more than I do Trump, who literally personifies the absolute bottom of the cognitive/morality barrel, The man literally incites violence between Americans.

Nonsense. You’re touting a false equivalency. The President signs or rejects legislation. One will do so with some semblance of reason, acting on behalf of the public interest, at least as he sees it, whereas the other, a narcissist who’s losing his mind, will only think of how the bill will or could work in his self-interest.
To make matters worse, Trump will be surrounded by a group of yes men and bad actors who want to totally upend the American system and engineer a hard right. By contrast, Biden will be surrounded by people empowered to tell the President what they think.
Big difference.

I am all-too-able and I decide to choose neither. And your vote will be meaningless whether counted or not and you went to all the trouble to do it.
And Biden’s energy policy and appeasionist foreign policy incites violence by Islamofascists, Emperor Xi and the Chinese Communist Party, and Revanchist Vladimir Putin. So, again, it’s a wash.

Keep dreaming.
And you’re engaging in a False Binary/False Dilemma Fallacy by supporting the legitimacy of the Giant Douche vs. Turd Sammich “choice.”
I might add, if mere voting made people free, then the entire former Soviet Bloc, Red China, Juche North Korea, and Islamist Iran would all be the most free nations kn Earth, since they all have a nearly 100 Percent turn-out in their elections, whether anyone wants it or not.
Mandatory elections are the ultimate means by which Totalitarian regimes claim and maintain the illusion of legitimacy, both with their own citizen-subjects and with the rest of the world.
March 24, 2024 at 1:08 am #53113@ Enco
No fallacy. It’s a dilemma even by you description. There is no third horn. One has to choose and not to choose is to choose. Biden isn’t nearly as bad a choice as Trump.
March 24, 2024 at 6:54 pm #53128And your vote will be meaningless whether counted or not and you went to all the trouble to do it.
If your aim is to persuade Trumpets to stay home, I would applaud you. But if your aim is to persuade everybody to stay home, then STFU. This is the most important election in my lifetime. It doesn’t matter who gets elected, as long as it isn’t Rump. I would have voted against him (not for Hillery but against Rump) in 2016, but I didn’t expect Rump to win. So I didn’t vote at all. I won’t be fooled again. I voted against Rump in 2020. (for Biden by default). I will do the same this year. I have even registered Republican so I can vote against Rump in the primary.
If you consider yourself non-religious, you NEED to vote. Against Rump.
And Biden’s energy policy and appeasionist foreign policy incites violence by Islamofascists,
And Rump incites violence by his brownshirt cult.
March 24, 2024 at 10:01 pm #53129I agree with the sentiment of the left on Trump. Or should i say of people who give some credence to our pseudo democracy and values. In this case the narrative is correct.
In the same manner that lefties will discard/dismiss/ridicule anything Trump says even if it is accurate i gotta say that the BS narratives from both political parties is in this case more or less accurate. Biden is just another politician. It is not a lesser of two evils thing typical presidential race.
March 24, 2024 at 10:08 pm #53130If you’re a woman, a man who loves a woman, or just someone who thinks they ought to be able to buy a condom, you need to vote for Biden, because Trump will try to please the craziest of the right-wing MAGA theocrats.
Whatever you can say about Biden, you can’t say he’s a theocrat.

March 25, 2024 at 3:36 pm #53137Unseen,
With the inflation wrought by both Trump and Biden’s “stimulus,” that condom will eventually be £4,000,000, the same price as an ordinary cup of drinking chocolate on the Planet Algon:
Brand X says it’s £8,000,0000,000, and given the pace of inflation, they’re probably right!
Again, it’s all a wash.
Best to get to your local bent-and-dent store or clearance section of your pharmacy and stock up on condoms now. T.J. Maxx, Ross’, or Gabe’s would probably be the best sources for the split-crotch panties. Do it now or you will have to wait every 2, 4, or 6 years to afford what you want.
March 25, 2024 at 4:53 pm #53140Robert, Unapologetic, Jake, and Unseen,
In case anyone thinks that Biden is a better candidate on Separation of Religion and State issues, here’s something to refute that straight from the White House itself:
FEBRUARY 17, 2023
FACT SHEET: Biden-Harris Administration Celebrates the Second Anniversary of the Reestablishment of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/02/17/fact-sheet-biden-harris-administration-celebrates-the-second-anniversary-of-the-reestablishment-of-the-white-house-office-of-faith-based-and-neighborhood-partnerships/Can’t houses of worship provide social services and charity without help from Government, both locally and connected nationwide via the Internet and shipping services?
And while violence against individuals over religion is wrong and deserves justice, why do houses of worship and faith-based institutions deserve special protection and not all the businesses, neighborhoods, and homes destroyed by crime and rioting in the past 4 years?
Why an Imam of a vandalized mosque and not some poor working man of any creed or none trying to get through a damn day without getting attacked on a New York City subway?
Candidates from both parties have a higher bar to pass before they get my support.
