Sunday School 8 months, 2 weeks agoHours spent on religious indoctrination (especially in schools that emphasize rote memorization of doctrine) are hours not spent on inquiry-based learning, STEM labs, or building critical reasoning skills. When students are trained to accept authority and revelation as the highest form of knowledge, they often carry weaker habits of skepticism,…[Read more]

Sunday School 8 months, 2 weeks ago@jakelafort…. I used to have a t-shirt with that quote. I wore it back in the days when blasphemy was a thing in Ireland. It started lot of rows and arguments….which was my intention đ

How religious is your state?
How some Texas teachers are fighting the Ten Commandments law in classrooms.
I got into a row by suggesting that I suspected most members of ICE were Christian (Christians are not that aggressive, the Christian shouted). Then I read this article.

Sunday School 8 months, 3 weeks agoYes, the fundamentalist position is where the religious should aspire to be. If one is ‘true believer’ then no reasoning is allowed in. NO point just being a “Sunday Christian”. Faith must become the totality of the brain process. Anything less is not acceptable to your peers.

Sunday School 8 months, 3 weeks agoAt some point in the past I remember thinking that religious fundamentalism was a byproduct of whatever religion someone followed. But it is not. It is the natural destination to arrive at if you stay the course of the indoctrination process. There are just degrees of how âmentalâ people become once they reach the destination point.

Unseen started the topic The govt explanation of the Kirk murder is fishy as hell in the forum Politics 8 months, 3 weeks ago
Was the Kirk shooting a government op? Did Trump need a martyr for distraction purposes and.or to set up a pretext for a crackdown on the left? One thing is for sure: the government’s explanation makes no sense at all.
