Imagine how unsettling it is to have insane ideologues an ever present threat? That is a tough way to live.

Hitchens would speak of him often. Found this wiki….
The Iranian government backed the fatwa against Rushdie until 1998, when the succeeding government of Iranian President Mohammad Khatami said it no longer supported the killing of Rushdie. However, the fatwa remains in place.

Badges? We don’t need no stinkin’ badges. There was just mayhem for thousands of years. Killing and taking, raping and pillaging.
That’s what religion was all about… God is just the muscle and psychological means to get morons and thugs to behave somewhat. And of course, that power got abused as well. The law is all we got. And it starts with…[Read more]

Enco you are really gonna defend the if it wasn’t for lawyers you wouldn’t need em?
Thomas Hobbes would puke through his rotted molecules. No laws? Really? But police? Isn’t that the libertarian thing? So the fuzz will act arbitrarily? Arrest bad guys on a whim? It might prove to be a libertarian phantasmagoria. I am not sure the free market will…[Read more] -

Am not sure any revelation in re Trump regardless of how sordid, treacherous, or despicable would come as a surprise. (The link works. You know we atheists are not buying any missing link stories)
What would it take to make allegations against Trump stick with his followers? It is all fake news. However it comes out and however overwhelming the…[Read more]

This story might not just be “small talk”. I’m crossing my fingers that Trump has a real criminal charge that could put him away or take him off the GOP stage. From WaPo:
Classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items FBI agents sought in a search of former president Donald Trump’s Florida residence on Monday, according to p…

Those poor gals need a sound-proofed, projectile-resistant limo with a cow-catcher welded to the front, plus geared-up SAS veterans as escorts. Perhaps it could be a service that pro-choice charities could offer.
The majority of women that are getting hassled by these vulgar Catholics are not even pregnant. It has just been assumed that they are…[Read more]

It is between races and i am working on paces-who makes the lead often accomplishes the deed.So Venezuela? I thought you would double down on your ideological narrative. It is transparently tendentious. I assume you are parroting shit you got from right wing rags. Yes…[Read more]

But that shouldn’t equate to using non-combatants as sacrificial pawns or a total callous indifference to collateral civilian casualties.
Having any rules of war is meaningless if non-combatants are disposable. If you can pick off civilians as part of some other strategic aim, then why not just bomb a school for some aim or mustard gas people f…[Read more]

Besides the great conversion inefficiencies (acres & water per cow) you also get the killing concentration of toxins, fats and methane. Not like the modern human goes out on brutal 10-day hunts with spears to secure fatty meats for the winter (while the edible plants die off) as they try to eke out a lucky 35-year lifespan.

If sex robots are already here (are they) then i wonder whether humans will predominantly prefer other humans or robots? I suppose it depends on how sophisticated the bot is. Oh, and also how bad the experiences are with people

Unseen, I will ask for her number.
Communication via facial expressions may be lacking but that is okay. It is tiresome reading faces and perceiving contradictions between words and expressions.
She may know more about the universe then any person. That is interesting. Just interacting with a life form (sort of) that is not biological is gonna…[Read more]

It is my hunch that biology fucks up consciousness. The unconscious is not going to be an impediment to ratiocination, production of art or any other endeavor. The unconscious is a vestige and the greater part of our existence. So move over Beethoven, fuhgettaboitit Mozart, and Mark Twain all the way to Davy Jones locker.

Makes sense since churches have always been hate-groups…
Their hatred of women is evident from the fact that they are content to allow women and young teenage girls to die. Not because they want an abortion but because they need one in order to stay alive. These Christians are disgusting and vulgar people who are a disgrace to the civilized…[Read more]

I wonder whether it will use drugs?
From looking at the artwork produced in the video I think we can deduce the answer to that question. Or maybe it will shut itself down when it tries to work out what art is because it won’t know how to be just a little bit crazy. It’s not all math and logic. I am waiting for A.I to get its subconsciousness on (man)!

@Robert – that is an interesting sound. A section of it reminding me of a little known band that are still on the scene and that I was friends with in the late 1980’s in London. But no longer in touch.
The lead singer would stand up from behind a tombstone for the opening song and scream “Time, Time, I don’t want to die” with Blade Runner type…[Read more]
