Sunday School 5 years agoLife is far more meaningful without searching for moral perfection.
I’m not sure I’ve ever encountered the author’s stereotypical Loving Saint although I have come across some “extraordinary altruists”, or people higher than normal in the range of empathic concern for others.
I have known some Rational Saints, who are motivated by duty to follow…[Read more]

Knowledge 5 years agoI’m told that the Buddha taught that the mind is also a sense organ. I think that’s true, we can use the mind to know things – to join dots, distill data into knowledge.

Knowledge 5 years agoARRRRRRGGGG!!!!
@unseen, I’m sorry… I did NOT delete the update that you posted a few days ago, but then in the process of trying to explain what happened, I DID accidentally your newest update, along with my own klusterf#^%Y of an explanation. This update section is frustrating for you and I both. So I’ll just post the explanation in again,…[Read more] -

Knowledge 5 years agoWe run into a problem with the term ‘correct’. We need parameters for applying it. Correctness is relative to a number of variables such as desired outcome, acceptable margin of error, methodological limitations etc.
What is it she needs to know in this example? Does she need to know specifically the number of books as accurately and individually…[Read more]

Sunday School 5 years agoReg,
So with the “Thoughts and Prayers” App, it’s not just virtue signalling, but virtue blasting and virtue spamming.
This problem gives rise to a new product: a filter that only allows virtue signals to come through with attached documentation of a related good deed. 💩🛡
I guess the app name could be “Realz Not Feelz,” “Street Cred,” or…[Read more]

Unseen – if the problem was on a tablet then make sure nothing is stuck on the touchscreen. If on a laptop then update the touch-pad drivers, even if a mouse is attached.Actually both were Windows 10 Dell laptops. It’s the later generation one that has the problem.

Sunday School 5 years agoWhat has The Vatican done besides “thoughts and prayers?”
I recently heard a comedian – Anthony Jeselnik – talking about the vanity of the “thoughts and prayers” posters on social media. He compared them to a wedding photographer who only took selfies 🙂
Anyway there is an app for that!

Sunday School 5 years agoReg,
Of course Big Papa Francis thinks we Atheists are good if we do good things…
And the ultimate good thing we can do in his eyes is admit we are miserable born sinners, join the Mother Church, be informed of our other sins of thought, intent, and deed, and be filled with more perpetual guilt which can be assuaged only with grovelling,…[Read more]

Sunday School 5 years agoI did not have any “auto scrolling” problem. The street preachers and house callers often use this form of apologetic “reasoning”. Science and Faith are not compatible but they never stop trying to justify their beliefs by criticizing Science.
Science has no concerns about religious beliefs. Science have no need religious faith. On one hand the…[Read more]

Sunday School 5 years agoThe way I see it….I “christened” the previous Pope “God’s Rottweiler”. He decided he could no longer be bothered to be the Christian gods’ managing director on Planet Earth. He was replaced by the new M.D. who said that we atheists were better than hypocritical Catholics. So I “christened” him too 🙂
