If I’m going to join a site I expect it to be EASY to carry on conversations etc. Not to have to bounce back and forth between sections of the site. Plus, no one has answered my questions re who the site’s moderator is and how I make contact to complain.

Woody Allen and Roman Polanski are on my mind lately. Oh, and add William Friedkin to that list. Their movies (Alice, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Rosemary’s Baby, Macbeth, The Exorcist and Cruising all come to mind. Immersion in these movies gives me goosebumps. I have actually corresponded with Mr. Allen and found him to be a most gracious and (in…[Read more]

Just anted to mention that accepting a friend on this site is sort of counter-intuitive, at least for me. Or, maybe it’s simply the fact that it’s 7:00 a.m. and I’ve had no coffee and fitful sleep. I DO love reading the many exciting and original opinions here and have even managed to call out a few fundamentalist Christians on Amazon’s book…[Read more]

Hey, Bellen! Thanks for your great questions. First of all, my compassion and empathy to you for what you’re suffering. I have stopped attending AA meetings altogether. Those rooms seem to me full of people in serious need of psychological help. The last straw occurred the day I sat down next to a woman with a care-giving do in tow.

Hey, folks! I wanted to share a phenomenon that happened to me that may strike a chord in others. I spent much of 2017 in hospital for chemical dependency and heart-related issues. The treatment center endorses the 12 steps of AA and emphasizes the concept of a “higher power” that can save you from–essentially–yourself. One morning I woke up and…[Read more]
