When I was in school I asked a visiting priest if people who never heard about (his) God would be sent to Hell by default if only the saved could get to Heaven. He too started to talk about Aquinas and Augustine, saying that disbelievers were sinners. I “corrected” him by saying that while Aquinas did consider “unbelief” to be a sin, Augustine considers unbelievers not to be sinners if they had never heard about God because sin is considered by Catholics to be voluntary(freewill and all that rubbish). I was asked to leave the classroom. The things I had to do to escape the nonsense!!
