Generally speaking, men are always in control as long as they are the more physically capable sex, which is likely to be always. Power comes from force (violence) or the anticipation or fear of it. There is intellectual force, of course, but a knock on your door at 3 a.m. by a bunch of jackboots in black masks will cancel that out pretty quick. Even the case of, like, a Ghandi, ultimately it was the fear of the establishment of the potential violence of the people themselves which gave his nonviolent movement its victory. Reason and logic only have force when people are reasonable and logical.
