Once upon a time China adopted a one child policy intended to help catapult China to unprecedented economic growth. It worked. For a while, the country penalized couples who had more than one child and it also favored male children.
Unfortunately, “Magic always has a price.” The result has been probably the fastest aging population in the world. It has the 4-2-1 problem, a shrinking population, and it’s only major resource is shrinking drastically. It is facing a demographic collapse.
Pair this with the rather bizarre fact that despite having they have a land mass roughly similar to the U.S. (behind, in order, Russia, Canada, and the U.S.), it is a resource poor country. Its only major resource is cheap labor and it’s shrinking precipitously. It’s an emergency, but Xi is a classic dictator who doesn’t want to hear anything negative. People won’t tell him the truth for fear of being imprisoned or worse and there is one country that can help and save them: The United States of America.
