TheEncogitationerParticipantFellow Unbelievers,
Presidential Hopeful Nikki Haley wants your ID before you can gain admission to Cyberspace and wants to know exactly who is saying what, where, and when.

Nikki Haley serving this up in an American Flag T-shirt and 5-Inch heels is no better than Nina Jankowitz serving it up with a Mary Poppins hoop-skirt and a flying parasol! It’s a shit sammich of Tyranny either way!
By the way, folks, if the Government ever demands your name to participate in Cyberspace, just give them them one or several of the many holy names of Mystery Science Theatre 3000’s Demigod David Ryder:
MST3K: Space Mutiny–David Ryder Nicknames
Rifftrax: Space Mutiny–The Additional Names of David Ryder
The 99 Names of Allah do not begin to match the many honorific titles of David Ryder (Peace Be Unto His Manly Personage!)
So remember: Defend Free Expression! Put your faith in Blast Hardcheese!

UnseenParticipantActually, forcing everyone to use their real name rather than allowing folks to post anonymously would shut a lot of people up and force them to post with more restraint.
And thanks for reminding me why I stopped watching MST3K lo those many years ago. What’s Up, Tiger Lily? was much funnier. Asian spy movie, dialog ripped out and substituted with dialog written by Woody Allen (back when he was funny) and a soundtrack by The Lovin’ Spoonful. What could go wrong?

TheEncogitationerParticipantUnseen,
Well, unlike MST3K, Wood-Yi Allen didn’t turn his idea into a 35-year-old franchise and cult following.
Nor did Wood-Yi Allen accidentally discover the way for free people to deal with Misinformation/Disinformation/Malinformation (MDM *GROWL!* 🦁.)
MST3K didn’t like what was rotten and stupid about pop culture, but didn’t want to censor it either. They did what every culture snob and every authoritarian hates: They made parody of it and talked back!
On the ending credits, most episodes of MST3K contain a dedication to The Authors of The First Amendment. That seals the deal for me!
Really, a whole lot of what counts as “good” movies, TV shows, and news media needs a live-action MST3K to put them in proper perspective and keep them from becoming undeservedly sacred.

UnseenParticipantFor me, MST3K gave the occasional chuckle. Most of it was fairly adolescent stuff. Maybe they got better writers ove the years, but I stopped watching after a while.
