Meat droppings: No need to cut down red and processed meat for health reasons
That is the headline in a recent scidaily article. It purports to be a big-assed review of the data and concludes as the title suggests that consumption of red meat and processed meat is not associated with any statistically significant increase in diseases such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease.

First thought was how much did the meat industry pay for this tripe. But the end of article says there are no primary external funding sources. Not exactly sure how to interpret that language but if perchance it is a legit assessment of the data it leaves me wondering when if ever can we rely on science for nutritional advice? eggs…only whites…the complete egg……..butter…margarine…butter etc.

Even if it is corroborated it wont impact my decisions. I dropped meat for ethical, not health concerns. Can’t wait until we have lab grown meat. For you vegetarians there is the impossible burger that really is close enough to hamburger to make you do back flips and cartwheels.
