I think my grandmother believed that if you didn’t visit the graves of loved ones regularly, there would be some sort of hell to pay. I do like visiting old graveyards because they are beautiful and the inscriptions are interesting. In New Orleans there is the extra bonus on a hot day of getting the whiff of rotting flesh from the above ground, poorly sealed crypts.
