JP: All you can do is run from it. Not ONE counter, not one quotation and response to it. That’s because you have never encountered someone who has examined your mendacity and condescension and thrown it in your faces.

So brash for a person who has come across as someone between a sharp chimp and a far right Trump supporter. A pattern is emerging. You are projecting. You are what you accuse. atheists of being. You finally said something substantive however poorly and i responded but you remained silent. So you are mistaken about us not engaging and running from your rapier mind.

JP: Atheists/Leftists constantly scream that they are “scientific” and “rational” and anyone of religious faith is maliciously attacked for believing in a “man with a beard who performs magic.” In point of fact, science is equivalent to magic, if any atheist/Leftist would think about it and knew what he was talking about. Atheists/Leftists constantly scream that they are “scientific” and “rational” and anyone of religious faith is maliciously attacked for believing in a “man with a beard who performs magic. You follow the aforementioned quote with examples from the natural world that are seemingly inexplicable. You conclude magic, magic and more magic. However you fail to draw a conclusion. So let me take a shot. Let me know if the following is not the conclusion you have drawn. The universe is magic. Neither scientists nor atheists can explain it therefore it is unfair to have atheists accuse theists of having a world view based upon magic when the world actually is magic.

Assuming arguendo that is the intended conclusion allow me to draw a distinction between the universe and countless phenomena that are from our perspective MAGICAL and religion which is MAGIC or perhaps a cheap parlor trick that fails to deliver.

It is evident from your scribbles that you fail to understand that it is theists who have made a claim to ultimate knowledge. That grand claim is to be taken on faith. Atheists have no such burden. The rational and scientific approach to understanding the universe and our place in it is precisely and completely the opposite of theistic approaches.

Religion relies on authority and requires its adherents to have faith and never question the received knowledge. Science on the other hand does not set forth a world view and rules of behavior and holy texts that are inerrant and lacking in any rational basis. In fact such an approach is antithetical to science which remains comparatively humble in gradually amassing knowledge and requiring discoveries to be challenged and always subject to modification based upon evidence.

You mentioned the bearded man in the sky which is of course absurd and an obvious projection on the part of the early authors but the greatest difficulty with religion isn’t the talking snakes and virgin birth and assorted childish mythology it is FAITH.

Whenever an institution, or religion requires its adherents to take it on faith, run don’t walk. It is axiomatic that having faith is granting a license to be mind-fucked. When the little guy or gal can’t question the authority figure there is bound to be abuse of power. Not only is the authority figure at liberty to promulgate all and any preposterous and indefensible claims but power to have freedom is greatly diminished. There is no way to distinguish one morass of superstition from another. That is borne out by the strong tendency of people to retain their inherited superstitions. There is seemingly no limit to the depths of depravity that will be visited on theists as a direct result of their faith. Open wide.
