We’ve discussed what a slippery slimy amorphous nothing of a word is spiritual. If we want to convey anything we need to define it. How would i use it? I might use it to convey an experience that shocked the senses so that it has a sarcastic note. eg. jumping into ice cold water and rolling around in the snow naked and afraid. “goddamnit that was spiritual!” Or in the awe i feel in beholding nature divorced of our pollution.

We’ve also discussed coincidences. I won’t do my silly little incidence of coincidence poem. There was a member who was certain that this insanely improbable occurence held a deep significance beyond any rational explanation. In my estimation your experiences are simple coincidences. Combining two variables in a temporal sense can be assigned a probability. In the case of day to day mundane activities the probability of a hit is relatively high especially if you have music playing a great many hours each day. Therefore many coincidences will follow.

I had one in college that freaked me out for a few minutes. I had a class in American natives and needed a topic for a term paper. So i called my Dad who was a walking encyclopedia who says do a paper on Pontiac’s rebellion. Simultaneously a friend holds up a book that says Pontiac’s rebellion. Holy fuck i freaked cuz i had never even heard of Pontiac. Probably not even the car.

I read recently corpses move up to 18 months post mortem. That is a little freaky. My guess is that after the lights go off there are only a few minutes of consciousness. Sure energy may be transferred but that does not imply consciousness. After all it was millions upon millions of years of evolution (presumably) before consciousness emerged. Remove/alter/degrade the morphology and chemistry of biology and it is lights out sailor. I like i think it is Twain’s clever little…i do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years and had not suffered the the slightest inconvenience from it…
