@unseen We are discussing genital ‘editing’ of babies, in order to safeguard them from experiences that they aren’t likely to be exposed to until they are an adult. If this is the case, then there is no need to ‘edit’ genitalia at birth, since the protection apparently provided by this operation is not expected to kick in until they are adults. The parents are responsible for the child until it becomes an adult. If the argument is a good one, adults will opt in – at least anesthetic could be used then.
You know the arguments are not sound ones. You know that no adult in their right mind would voluntarily have a bit of their genitalia truncated, based solely on the information currently available as to these alleged benefits.
You can get circumcised at any age. Why should we permit circumcision to be forced on babies?
