    As Yoda might say.

In a press conference today, asked why he is holding negotiations to end the war with Ukraine with just Russia and no Ukraine, he basically blamed the war on Ukraine for forcing Russia to invade because Ukraine decided not to cede more territory to Russian control. I suppose Ukraine will be informed what Putin and Russia “negotiate” once the division af spoils is settled.

He said all of America and the world is behind him on renaming the Gulf of Mexico, and justified DOGE rummaging around in Social Security because he knows there are millions upon millions of dead people receiving monthly checks. And more…

I am afraid he might actually not be lying in a technical sense. He might actually believe this bullshit.

The term Reality Distortion Field was invented to describe how Steve Jobs’ strong personality dragged other people along into his dream or vision. Sadly, in Trump’s case, it may drag the world into a dark period dominated by plutocrats and oligarchs.

Sooo…it’ll mean a “realist” might-makes-right world to the liking of you and John Meersheimer?

So what’s your complaint? You’ve spent the last three years saying that Ukraine’s skirt was too high.

Cenk and Ana have their own reality distortion field. “Drill, Baby Drill”
and “Fission, Baby Fission” practiced by both the U.S. and Europe would mean neither would be dependent on Russia or the Arab/Muslim oil producers for energy. This would mean Europe and Ukraine would have greater leverage against invasion without U.S. military aid.

Alas, common sense is the least common commodity in the world and Derangement Syndrome has jumped across nations and species of thought.

Oh…your unconditional announcement that you were leaving was premature or a feint of some sort so you could lurk in the shadows to p0unce when you saw the opportunity.

My views are not black and white like those who think Israel or Hamas can do no wrong or no right.

The creation of Israel was a mistake brought about by the hubris of victors of WW2, probably with a lot of guilt for not jumping in sooner as well. I mean, it’s obvious and it’s also obvious that it’s one of those errors in judgment that can’t simply be undone.

I can’t help but notice that you took the opportunity on your return from retirement to NOT talk about the topic that was raised and instead take ad h0minem potshots from the sidelines.

    Unseen,

I admit I was premature in dropping out. Running towards dumpster fires can be a weakness of mine. If people like you take this forum the way of the Zizians, however, that will definitely be the line. You get this Forum closer to that line with every post.

Saying that creating a refuge from genocide and persecution was a mistake is not some “nuanced” taste on a par with smooth vs. crunchy peanut butter as a side to serve with the cucumber sandwiches with the crust cut off. Some things are black and white.

And I am very on-topic. The nation and the world are in a grim spot and neither Trump nor his opponents are using their brains to make things any better.

I gypsies/Roma should have a country all their own, too. What country should we give them?

Roma could purchase real estate just like European Jews did in what is called the Holy Land region. These, of course, was those Jews who weren’t there previously for centuries.

The European Jews bought land in Israel? From whom? In freely negotiated transactions. You got any receipts to show?

Nice array of Fox News chirps.

Kamala Harris consistently warned about the potential consequences of a Donald Trump presidency. During her 2024 campaign, she emphasized the dangers she believed Trump posed to American democracy and governance.

In October 2024, Harris delivered a speech near the White House, at the same location where Trump had addressed supporters before the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. She cautioned that reelecting Trump could lead to “unchecked power,” referencing reports that he had praised Adolf Hitler and sought to use military force against domestic adversaries. Harris stated, “The idea that the president of the U.S. would take the word of the head of Russia over the intel community is the height of irresponsibility and shameful.”

In her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in August 2024, she criticized Trump’s leadership, highlighting his chaotic behavior and warning of the risks associated with his potential return to office. She expressed concerns about his admiration for autocratic leaders and the possible erosion of democratic institutions under his leadership.

    Unseen,

Not FOX News chirpings, but her own chirps to Charlamagne Tha God. Also her record as San Francisco DA:

I misspoke one thing. Krunk Kackling Kammie didn’t imprison hundreds over drugs. She did, however, imprison, fine, forcibly rehabilitate, and give criminal records that cripple serches for jobs and housing to hundreds. A distinction with little difference to her victims and which comes to nothing on her supposed anti-Fascist cred.

Here’s how Kamala Harris really prosecuted marijuana cases

Here’s how Kamala Harris really prosecuted marijuana cases
[Campaign fact check] As district attorney, Harris oversaw 1,900 convictions for pot offenses…

When it came to the fight for legalization, “she was nowhere, zilch, nada, no help,” said Tom Ammiano, a former San Francisco supervisor and assemblyman who has endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders for president. “Like a lot of candidates for a lot of offices, she’s come to Jesus on the issue. But it does leave a bad taste in your mouth about how sincere or how authentic she is.”…

“Some of the cases that Terence Hallinan would have just declined to prosecute, (Harris) said no, we’re going to prosecute these as felonies,” he said, attributing the change to a desire by police to crack down on dealers.”

Other activists point out that marijuana convictions still impact defendants’ lives even if they aren’t incarcerated.

“Just because you didn’t rot your life away in prison doesn’t mean it wasn’t a big deal to get a conviction,” said Dale Sky Jones, a Bay Area marijuana activist. “Your ability to keep your job, get another job or get housing with that conviction on your record is all hurt by that.”

How fun it is to watch the “fact-checker” squirm over this. The staff must wear “Yeah, no!” shirts as part of their uniform.

    Unseen,

Here is a piece on this subject, including a picture of a Jew and an Arab with the deed.

    Jewish Land Purchase in Palestine–Wikipedia
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_land_purchase_in_Palestine

And there is the matter of the many lands that forbid real estate sales by Arabs, Syrians, and Muslims to Jews. Why would such laws exist if the sales didn’t take place?

So, you’re saying that European Jews moved into Palestine and created Israel through individual economically fair and uncoerced land purchases at something like actual market value.

Got proof. And not a picture of just one receipt. One can’t tell from a receipt whether a transaction was done under duress.

Whatever Kamala’s flaws, I can easily place more trust in her than a three-time adulterer, adjudicated rapist, and convicted tax cheat who is currently turning the United States into a Russian asset. Today, Trump announced that, far from increasing sanctions, he’s preparing to do tremendous “deals” with Putin.

Are you with Trump or Kamala on support for Ukraine?
