The only thing wrong about this guy is that he’s religious. I was raised in a nonevangelical Christian church and the MAGA evangelical Christian nationalist type of Christianity is totally unlike what I was taught. I was taught a version that valued the parables of The Good Samaritan, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone,” and the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes. My only beef with that form of Christianity (well, the overriding one) is that the theology isn’t true.

Yeah, a little more rational, kind of like the “god is love”, “god is good” messages some hippie-type churches had going 50 years ago.

Since they can’t escape their “not so good book”, why do they persist? In the end it promises eternal damnation based only on one’s evanescent amount of belief in non-evidential assertions. The whole thing is based on a pre-Israel, 2nd-tier storm/war god and is supported by recycled characters and old plots borrowed from other myths and some unbelievably cheap parlor tricks.

He makes some great points but I think he’s a freethinker he just doesn’t know it yet 😉
