    Thinking of simplified explanations here:

    1. Newly evolving brains added, among other fitness advantages, abilities to
      • Enhance awareness of self, and awareness of external conditions
      • Predict optimal behaviors in response
      • Execute predicted-optimal behaviors
    2. Brains continued to evolve species-wide communications
      • Beyond mere chemical exchanges and pheromones
      • Increasingly sophisticated species-wide languages

The key terms here being “languages” (plural), and “increasingly sophisticated“.

Human, cultural evolution: Incremental sophistications like hand writing, one-off documents, human scribes to copy writings, printing press, typewriters, encyclopedias, radio, TV, computer composition and storage, personalized for every user, and all becoming massively available over networks and internet.

    —– —– —– —– —– —–

Then came LLMs, taking all of the above, not only compiling all human knowledge from the internet, but adding algorithms to predict possible words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and topics that most “logically” follow each other.

Result: Pure calculations that build LLMs, including derived catalogs of lexical and abstracted associations, combined with some humanly designed trial and error optimization producing useful new insights, conclusions and new documentation. Some hallucinations, yes… Human-like! We still deal with it, on the fly.

    —– —– —– —– —– —–

NOTABLE: Very recently, new languages have been added. E.g. a new LLM built by analyzing the language of DNA.

Using terms analogous to human-invented language:

    • DNA/RNA is the chemical ink and paper
      • I like to compare it to a cookbook of recipes, which itself is written in it’s own language
    • A gene is a specific sentence or chapter that conveys a distinct set of instructions
    • chromosome is an entire tightly bound book containing thousands of those genetic instructions

Every virus also has its small DNA or RNA cookbook packed into a shell, known as a “capsid”. And now we have tons of complete virus “cookbooks” stored on disk… including the entire sarbecovirus family, the group containing SARS, COVID-19, and variuos animal coronaviruses.

Now add to the above, another new language: Current scientific knowledge in the field of immunology.

Now we have the tools to calculate the most effectively designed vaccines! Instead of waiting for a virus to mutate, then designing an updated vaccine to protect against it, new LLMs can analyze and generalize designs of viruses, and significantly, more generalized vaccine designs.

In June 2026, a core active component designed entirely by computer simulations and AI — successfully passed its Phase 1 (“safe-for-humans”) clinical trial.
Led by U of Cambridge/DIOSynVax, scanning thousands of virus “cookbooks”.

Rather than targeting a specific strain’s spike protein, the AI identified highly conserved, stable structural features that evolution rarely morphs. It combined these features to manufacture a synthetic “super-antigen” in a vaccined, targeted to the more highly conserved DNA/RNA area(s).

This is only the beginning. Research is now widening to

    • Design new proteins from scratch
    • Optimize mRNA delivery (already famously successful fighting Covid)
    • Personalized Cancer Vaccines
    • Cold-chain free and needle-free delivery of vaccines, especially valuable in low income, low education-level countries
    • Other “broad spectrum” health solutions

I wrote 80% of this myself, cheating about 20% with Google’s Gemini AI suggestions.
