    Have a great week Everyone!

“My morality isn’t borrowed from a Bronze Age tribe—it’s built on empathy, not authority. Morality needs neither heaven nor hell to function—just a working conscience and the ability to think beyond yourself. I sleep just fine knowing there’s no one keeping score.”

    Reg:

World of Woo: RFK Jr.’s conspiracies make it into MAHA draft report.

I’m actually glad that RFK Jr.’s report didn’t say anything about food eyes that would probably require gallons drank over long periods of time to have any I’ll effect, as with flouride and artificial sweetners.

And I’m glad the report didn’t regard guns and motor vehicle accidents as health problems of children. These are problems created by violent criminals and shitty parents combined with inanimate objects.

And I’m glad the report didn’t mention processed vs. ultra-processed foods, since everything about food is a process from the raising of of it, to hunting or foraging or fishing of it, to harvesting and butchering, to preparing it for market, to transporting it, to preserving and storing it, to preparing and cooking it, to the digesting of of it.

And the distinction between processed and ultra-processed foods is about like the distinction between prayer and intercessory prayer: One involves more steps and the odds of helping or hurting is always 50/50, always the same as placebo, as the commercials say. Well, actually, the food, properly eaten, helps more than prayer, no matter how processed.

Adding nonsense about food dyes, processed vs. ultra-processed foods and non-health problems would just compound the nonsense that already exists in the report, which is legion.

RFK Jr. says that 5G causes “cancer, autism, a variety of mental and cognitive problems, post-traumatic stress, fatigue, and Type 2 diabetes”. …

And he does all this on a podcast in a studio filled with electronic equipment that produces all manner of electromagnetic radiation, interviewing with Joe Rogan, an advocate of using psychedelic drugs.

And RFK Jr. proposed using new AI technologies at the National Institutes of Health, which also uses electromagnetic radiation and still need tweaking to draw human hands right.

The Law of Non-Contradiction and self-awareness are just not RFK Jr.’s strong suits.

Jim Horgan forgets that it is precisely the “impure” practical uses of “pure” science that makes it “Holy Shit” science. We need more science channelled toward “Holy Shit” purposes like healing diabetic foot wounds with the speed of Dr. “Bones” McCoy on Star Trek.

And the people who stand to gain from such practical uses can foot the bill for science even if Trump cuts Federal funding. The best thing the Federal Government could do for science and the economy and a lot else is to restore the Gold Standard for money. That way, Dollars that investors spend on science and it’s applications can go further and have more purchasing power.
