Could not utilize the ongoing JP exchange. So it add to it here.
JP…1. I do not hate atheists. You put your words in my mouth and then react based on YOUR OWN WORDS.
I made the leap of hatred by evaluating your words not my own. You refer to atheists as a monolith and in a hateful way and do that without fail. To characterize atheists as arrogant, insulting, condescending, like a pigeon etc. is hate. Surely you must know on an intellectual level that we are not all the same. Some are rapists, murderers, philanthropists, empaths, republicans, democrats, far left, far right, geniuses, morons etc If you hear someone say all Blacks are lazy and stupid do you think the speaker hates Blacks?
JP…. You and your fellow atheists have done as atheists always do – say nothing substantive in response to my analyses of your lies and attacks. I am specific, you simply toss the entire critique aside. Weak. Inane.
Your first line is subject to the same criticism as above. You used the word substantive which is a word i used in asking you to produce something of substance. In my first response to you i concluded the writer is intellectually bankrupt after having read only your first paragraph. You made a claim about science and religion. Instead of making an argument you wrote the following: If atheists were as “rational” and “intelligent” as they are always claiming, they would not constantly resort to mendacity. Science pursues truth. The list of scientists as men and women faith is long and growing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christians_in_science_and_technology “Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. The notion that science and spirituality are somehow mutually exclusive does a disservice to both.” ” – Demon Haunted World, page 29, by Carl Sagan Valid criticism does you a favor. – Carl Sagan, Demon Haunted World , page 32 “I believe in God more because of science than in spite of it.” – William Phillips, Nobel Laureate in Physics “I think as Psalm 19, ‘the heavens proclaim the glory of God,’
You failed to address how or in what ways science and religion are compatible. You commit fallacies while avoiding your own topic. Now that i have read more of your words my evaluation of you is substantiated. You are intellectually bankrupt. Your claim that atheism is a religion is so patently false. Your only support of that notion is that some atheists wear or use symbols. Is that in and of itself sufficient evidence of a religion? Your repeated misuse of quotes is no substitute for an actual thinker. Your understanding of what Sagan meant is either lacking or you are disingenuous. Your notion that atheists can not debunk the first cause argument is similarly juvenile. It begs the question who or what made the first creator and who or what made the thing that made the first creator. I don’t pretend to understand the universe but i know it is a cosmic arrogance to posit our own place in the universe as numero uno and caused by a personal god. Atheism is just a lack of belief. You JP are a denier of all other superstitions but your own. I am one step ahead of you.
