AI’s taking over the universe is a stretch. Its making a repeating big bang rips the “fabric” to shreds little larger than molecules.
Indeed it’s a stretch, but I can’t rule out that several billion years of AI wouldn’t trump it.
On a related topic–but yeah, a tangent… similar to Fermi’s Paradox, we might ask why we’ve not yet seen evidence of alien AI. IMO, the technology to *widely* propagate self-assembling AI bots would be infinitely more feasible than the glossy-eyed Elon Musk style technology of building huge space ship to shuttling around fully grown human beings.
