Ben Stein? There’s a temptation poison the well in his case. Like most conservatives, especially the more rabid ones, the view of human nature is pretty dim. Apparently, according to their view, we are all happy sitting around smoking dope and hoping to never have to work a lick again.
As to that latter point, they never seem to think that perhaps everyone would love to work if the pay was adequately remunerative and fulfilling.
