Your boy didn’t mention that the top 1% of American earners now control more wealth than the nation’s entire middle class. Just a guess but perhaps that has just a little bit to do with why so many Americans are preferring a dictator to an elected leader?

Yeah, the left does so much stupid shit that is all too easy to point at. But it’s not the real problem. The real problem is the incredible concentration of wealth all over the world as resources are drying up, labor gets replaced and the weather gets meaner and meaner. The world is more an oligarchy than anything and its gonna just get uglier every day.

Nah not going to watch a bullshit video with a bullshit title. Civilisation is not being destroyed. At worst, some things we consider important are being chipped away at. We are far from “destroyed”. The very language of the title of this video screams “watching this will rot your brain”.

The left nor the right is not destroying anything. A lack of incentive to counteract that which chips away at equality, equity, rights, healthy democracy, minimal standards of living, healthy debate and dignity for all is the problem. This is not unique to the so called “left” or the so called “right”, but problems with political systems from which the incentives to deal with problems do not sufficiently emerge. Extremism is problematic, but that is just part of the forces which erode protections, healthy debate/narratives, equality, equity, dignity etc.

Labelling one side “the problem”, is part of the problem. The problem being people not focusing on the actual problem (a lack of incentive for any one in power to do anything about it) rather than specific groups. It’s sort of like rats blaming each other for being stuck rather than focusing on the maze itself. Try not to be rats, tribalising and polarising things and being overly simplistic explanations demonising political groups or worse, blaming all problems/situations on a religion/race/people or one side.

Politicians and the Supreme Court Justice politicians for either side, entered office indebted to their benefactors and have auctioned off their morality long ago. The founders could not envision such wealth in the hands of so few who are happy to divide and conquer. The system was not designed to handle it.

There’s no illuminati-type conspiracy here. It’s right there in front of us. It’s the pervasive and massive raw power of corporate and individual wealth pursuing their goals, be they left, middle or right leaning. @unseen was always posting about the controlling of media a while back. At that time, I thought there was still some objectivity in the media. Now I also doubt the sources I once trusted. The real danger of AI is that it will be used for the further concentration of wealth. From the oligarchs, Western and Russian, getting rich off the war, to the fossil fuel and shipping giants, to the liberal owners of the higher education systems, to the drug smugglers of South America, all just controlling the course of events with their wealth.

Imagine if the lower 90% of the human population was just worth 3 times what they are now (e.g. had 45% of the wealth, instead of 15%). How would that impact the world?

Take it from a retail cashier who is a grunt on the ground-floor battlefield of civilization: The notion that people should pay for what they want in life and that they should work producing market-demanded goods and servicesto to earn the money to pay for what they want is a dying notion and practice.

And the Left is entirely responsible for that over multiple generations.

And it has come to a cyst head full of pus in the past 3 years, with a nation $33 Trillion+ Dollars in National Debt and with stores having to lock up socks and Dove Soap in cases to keep them from going missing from theft and with American cities turned into filthy warzones once thought to only exist in the Third World.

And between the Marcuseian notions tha “speech is violence” and “silence is violence” taught in Ivy League Academia and filtered down to society in legislation and corporate culture, what kind of civilization is possible?

And, again, the Religious Right tsk-tsks all this, but only offers prayer and going “Back To Gawd” as it’s solutions. One T-shirt on an elderly woman summed it up: “‘Normal’ is not coming back…But Jesus is!”. 🙄😛

To nonexistent Hell with all this shit! I want better and I want it here and now, on Earth, in the only life that humans have and ever will have! And no Messiah is coming to bring it with some New Jerusalem Borg Cube!

Each of us have to be the solution to preserving and improving civilization in our own way and in our own sphere.

This Earth and the endless Natural Universe are nothing but energy (and matter is just slowed down energy.). According to The Laws of Thermodynamics, energy changes forms, but cannot be created nor destroyed.

This energy/matter only becomes a resource when humans apply thought and effort to it to create something new to sustain their lives and make them better.

Resources, therefore, are as infinite as the Natural Universe and as infinite as the human mind. We can have as much as we want and need if only we are free to think and work towards it.

As for the top wealthy, the can only have their position by one of two means: Either they provide goods and services that people are willing and able to buy, or they keep their position by coercion, especially the ultimate institution coercion known as Government.

The former group of wealthy are a boon to humanity and they rise to and fall from their positions as people’s wants and needs change. In a dynamic economy, the names of top wealth-makers and captains of industry are not the same as they were 200, 100, 50, 25, or even 5 years ago.

The latter group of wealthy and the Governments which they use for subsidies and favors and regulation to pick winners and losers are the real danger. With them, as Genesis put it, “There’s no need to be nice on the way up, ’cause you’re not coming down.”. They are the enemy, not the wealthy as a class or wealth as a thing.

The Sun shines on anyone with sense enough to get out in it, and I’m about to do that now. 🌅😎
