What started as student protests has expanded to sector strikes, Palestinianists, Islamists, and now a mass shooter aiming at Africans and those he perceived as Muslim, with lots of drugs in his system, ammo and gun parts, and a copy of Mein Kampf in his dwelling. Also specluation that this could be a victory for the Far Right National Rally of Marine La Pen.
Basically, a Hobbsian “war of all against all” but not for lack of government or those who think they can govern everyone else best.
