https://medium.com/illumination/calling-white-people-caucasian-is-unconsciously-supporting-white-supremacy-85aed93c4dcc This what I hate most about translucent humans calling themselves white or caucasian and most don’t even know how this got coined. First of all there’s no separate group of humans living on earth today especially based on skin colors this is the most sinister brainwashing and repeating the taxonomies of race science. The only time pale skin was available is before we became bipeds is before we separated from our cousin the chimpanzee we had pale skin underneath our hair, afterwards when we began to walk upright and we started losing our body hair and our skin became exposed to the deadly UV-Radiations from the sun our bodies adapted or evolved to interact with the sun and we became dark skin humans and this was the way for all hominids, just in case you don’t know, this is what natural selection really means.

    • ysumlin, what would you prefer in racial designations? None? But we see color before we see people. I am good with Black White Asian.
I did not know about that Blumenbach and his “scientific” classification. Europeans may have rejected the classification cuz they looked down on people from that region and Americans were too ignorant to know since they can’t find anything on a map or globe. (little joke there i think?) But i reject the author’s point that it is a term that unconsciously perpetuates racism. Unless and until people know its origins it is just a word. I remember recoiling speaking to a Jamaican who used the term Picney which was obviously derived from picaninny which of course was used by slave holders and Whites in general as a derogatory term for Black children. She told me it is used in Jamaica extensively and she did not think anybody knew its usage. So i thought okay then it does not matter and it is not an issue. I could see a time where sufficient awareness perhaps through CRT makes it uncomfortable. At that point it ought to be jettisoned.
POC, people of color slaps you in the face with racism. It is a term that harkens to a time when racism was overt and celebrated. I do think it helps perpetuate racism unconsciously.
        • I understand if you reject Black and White. As one of the articles indicated or maybe it was you-there are so many associations of goodness with white and badness with black.
If not Black and White-what then?
            • Being human and our species or planet dwellers is all good with me if we need to use skin colors then this means Blackness no matter the shade.
            • Rather being unconscious or conscious to colorism neither is good for humans in regards to the atrocities that is associated with this sickness. All humans on this planet are made up of nothing but Black People no other human race exist. Skin colors has nothing to do with humans, this is the mess that Europeans invented with their stupid and ignorant asses and anything they believe in I hate.
                • ysumlin i appreciate your sentiment. If you care then hatred is a kneejerk response. As a kid i had to come to terms with hatred for Germans. I lost a lot of family on my dad’s side in the holocaust and experienced antisemitism myself from German Americans. But now i wait to have a good reason to hate someone. I also know an Armenian family and the grandparents who did not live through the Armenian genocide but whose parents did and they have hatred for Turks.
My feeling is history ought to be described as accurately as possible. But it seems to me that whoever has power abuses it. No doubt ideology religiously and politically borne is the fuel for exploitation. But hatred seems to me to be a response that is counterproductive. I suppose it is not something one chooses. Ya hate or ya do not hate.
Ya know another consideration based upon a point you have driven home with a great big hammer is that race is BS. We are all one species and either one race or no races. So singling out a group like Europeans is contrary to the all are one narrative. I said it before and i will say it again. Whoever wields the power is the victimizer.
                    • I do agree but when this madness continues to effect us all today and the same stupid and ignorant stereotypes are even more relevant and open season of violence because of the narrative. When I see show of aggressive behavioral syndrome by those people who are delusional with the idea of power, is the same as a coward with a gun, one must meet aggression with aggression driven by the same passion of beating up the bully who terrorizes you because if not the bully will continue to harm you. Playing the lame duck is just as bad as being “The Village Idiot” of becoming unaware of the dangers that lurks. Let us remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed by a group of people who hate unity and justice when this man spoke about unity and unconditional love, I do not condone or justify evils against innocent people who did nothing to you.I dearly believe in “Give Me Justice or Give Me Death”
