Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorI was told at a board meeting this evening that I was not very cooperative because I kept questioning what other members suggested. I thought that was my role? You asked me to attend because it falls within my area of experience. If you keep questioning them they will feel that you are undermining them. I am only concerned about the merits of their suggestions and not about how they feel. This is our fourth meeting and nothing has been implemented from the earlier ones so we need to move it forward, don’t you agree? See, now you are doing it to me! Look it, the first 3 suggestions offered as solutions to the problem are of no value to the organization. The first is unworkable because it does not consider new regulations coming into force next May, the second suggestion is illegal and the third one makes things worse. Well then, what do you suggest?? I suggest what I suggested an hour ago, the one Larry, Curly and Moe shot down, exactly as happened at the last meeting. No need for that attitude!! Yes there is. You have amateurs working for you who in the last 4 months have made no worthwhile suggestions or provided any workable solutions and ignored or scoffed at everything I suggested. Please tell me where my recommendations are wrong. If you can’t then tell me why you won’t implement them, especially as they do not cost you anything, are legal and I have furnished evidence to show case studies where they worked previously (where I was involved). If not I am out of here for good. This is a business meeting, not a ego stroking cozy clique where people are upset about how their “valuable ideas” are treated based upon how it impacts their feelings. From now on all meetings you invite me to attend will be conducted standing up or I will not be here again. I don’t have time to waste on this nonsense and if nobody gets that then I suspect you will be all sitting about here next month relieved I am not present and busy looking at the dessert menus. I will phone you on Friday afternoon and we can take it from there……

ParticipantOh, ouch!

Participant1. you say ‘google it’ rather than ‘search’
Yeah so?
2. you have an iphone
Yeah so?
3. you read restaurant reviews
Maybe. Why?
4. you vote for the same political party regardless of the candidate or issues
Theoretically speaking I would vote for a candidate of any party as long as they are sane. To date, no examples have occurred where that has happened so it’s still just a theory.
5. you eat ‘gluten free’ despite not being a celiac
I just found out this year that I should have always been eating gluten free. Oh wow if only I had known a LONG time ago!!!!!!! And no I don’t have full-blown celiac disease but it’s on a spectrum people!
How does it make me a sheep for eating well?
6. you use facebook
With an alias, lol
7. you watch ‘Game of Thrones’
No. Maybe I should start.
8. you watched or participated in the ‘ice bucket challenge’
What the hell is that?
9. you follow a sports team because you live in that town
Yeah so? I don’t honestly care THAT much but…
10. you name your child (or children) after a TV actor
After we had decided on the name we realized it was the same name as a prominent political figure just in Spanish. But that was an accident, lol
Baaahhh, lol

NoelParticipant7- Hell’s to the yeah I watch GOT! Love me some dragons!!!
8- i wouldn’t participate in ice anything. That’s why i think the members of the Polar Bear Club are nuts. Not a big fan of anything cold except for Klondike bars.
9- Well yeah. I like going to the games and it’s a whole lot easier if the game is 2 miles away versus 1,000 miles away. They also televise the games locally so there is that too.
10- You know how super heroes are named with the first letter of first and last name being the same? Peter Parker, Matt Murdoch, Bruce Banner, Reed Richards, etc. Named my son that way.

NoelParticipantLOL!
Yes Belle, yes I am. I sit with the wife most nights and watch Frazier. She’s got me watching “This is Us” now and we can’t keep the Kleenex stocked. I’ve grown so soft in my golden years.

PopeBeanieModeratorAs a certified non-sheeple (before you ask – I certified myself), I avoided Game of Thrones [GoT] because it was so damned popular. I avoided most popular music (e.g Led Zepellin) to my detriment in some of those cases.
I checked out GoT Season 4 from the library just to see what the fuss was about, and then wished I had started with Season 1. Now I’ve seen season one through five, and I’m 40th in the queue for season 6, and 71st in the queue for season 7.

Not an expert but I thought boards were meant to be stacked with ‘yes’ people. And I thought ‘an ego stroking cozy clique’ was the definition of a board!

ParticipantThe ice bucket challenge was the most successful social media campaign ever (and might still be). Check it out –> here
It had over TEN BILLION views on facebook alone.
