Wow, it wasn’t until I read this, that it dawned on me that…gasp…youtube is not a reliable source of health related information.

Who would have thought that a video site, where absolutely anyone can post virtually anything, that one needs to be heavily sceptical of claims made. Having said that, now follows a whole shitload of nonsense justifying why, despite having studied critical thinking at university and a lifetime of carefully considering sources: why stuff that aligns with my nonsense views, that questionable sources are okay…

LOL. There are thousands of financial geniuses on the YT divulging their incredible, secret investment strategies from their tiny bedrooms and trailer parks. “Don’t forget to like and subscribe”.

I saw one old guy living in a trailer, who still has to work a shitty job and his advice is that everyone should take social security as soon as you can at 62. Hundreds of comments are “you’re so great” and such.  If I took SS now, I would lose my Obamacare health insurance subsidy, have to pay income taxes on my IRA withdrawals and incur a 30% reduction in my SS payment when I do elect to receive it. Sure, I could die before getting payments, but will I care, LOL? The breakeven is a little before my estimated longevity, so it is longevity insurance to wait a few years. That is way beyond this “expert’s” purview.

I think YouTube tells anyone what they want to hear.
