Is the modern GOP pro-rapist?
Fasten your seat-belts as the Rapture Index is on the increase. I wonder if things would be better if God was not in charge?
The Bible as Oklahoma’s ‘official state book’ is not OK.
An International Day to combat Islamophobia? Sorry but please just fuck off as I will be busy blaspheming that day.
Raif Badawi and the brutality of Saudi Arabia.
Does religion really improve educational outcomes?

Have a great week everyone!March 20, 2022 at 1:54 pm #41954

Your World of Woo story sure looks interesting but it’s behind a pay wall. Is this one a good substitute?March 20, 2022 at 5:44 pm #41958
This is not Qanon. It’s U.S. Department of State Undersecretary Victoria Nuland confirming that there are/were biolabs in Ukraine working on hazardous materials. Unless one is very bad at reading between the lines, one has to assume that the U.S. is involved somehow (perhaps to do research that might be too sensitive or even illegal to do at home).March 20, 2022 at 5:54 pm #41959
Strange one there Unseen. My “Woo link” is from the LA Times which is not behind a paywall for me and when I click on the link you suggested it is geo-blocked for “our European visitors” 🙂
I might be able to archive it and link to the archived url.March 20, 2022 at 9:17 pm #41960

Here’s what I see even using incognito mode:
I even VPN’ed from Ireland without luck. Maybe you’re a subscriber and forgot that you are.March 20, 2022 at 10:04 pm #41964
No, I don’t have a sub for the LA Times. Maybe the paywall is only for the USA on the assumption that not too many people outside the USA would be accessing it? I compile Sunday School in “normal” browsing mode and then often use Tor and VPN with different primary and secondary DNS entries especially if talking to ex-Muslims in the Middle East.
Note – If anyone is using WhatsApp to communicate with anyone in Russia or in Ukraine then do not use the word “war” in the message.March 20, 2022 at 10:28 pm #41966

What happens if you do?March 20, 2022 at 11:35 pm #41967
My friend who worked in Saint Petersburg for 3 years was speaking with Russian friends during the week about their thoughts on the “security operation” and was warned by them not to use the word “war” at any point. This is because all messaging services are monitored for key words and your mobile number will be put on “the list”. This means that you will be more actively tracked. The FSB’s (KGB) software makes Pegasus seem lightweight and that is an Israeli security product and Mossad are certainly not amateurs!March 21, 2022 at 12:37 am #41968

I’m sure that, more importantly, anyone you contact who have in Russia will be monitored as well, if they aren’t being watched already.March 21, 2022 at 12:48 am #41969
My contribution to Sunday School this week is this video by a comedian talking about something that gets scant coverage in the American press: conflicts of interest and insider trading by American legislators evidenced by suspiciously well-timed investments in war industries. Investments very likely to appreciate continuously the longer the Ukraine conflict drags on.March 22, 2022 at 6:43 am #41973
Here is an excellent remedy for the dark world of Megachurches, though it isn’t taught in either Re-ligulous or Gummint Skoolz or even, to my knowledge, seen on kid’s television anymore.
That remedy is financial and economic education done with the kids at home with the assistance of YouTube and with addendums to make it apply better today:
With these videos, along with the Looney Tunes and John Sutherland videos I linked earlier, kids can learn that wealth is not a gift Heaven-sent by the Supernatural, but is Natural and within their own hands to earn and grow with both productive work and rational, frugal habits that come easy with just a little effort.
The addendums, of course, are that debit cards are better at tracking your transactions than paper checks, that mutual funds are better than passbook savings, that there are a lot of functions done by government that are better done by private individuals, firms, and organizations, that the National Debt has grown from a Tyranosaurus Rex to a Borg Cube, and that your wealth can grow faster if you do everything legal and possible to keep both Caesar’s and God’s heavies out of your wallet.
If every kid learned the wisdom in these videos, wonders would abound:
There would be no payday loan centers, since workers would bite the bullet before paying their interest;
CoinStar machines would only dispense gift cards and take tax-deductible charity donations, since people would wrap their own coins instead of paying a fee for a voucher minus 20 Percent;
Pawn shops would be sources of quality second-hand goods instead of sources of jacked-up interest finance;
The only people who would rent-to-own furniture and appliances would be local playhouses or movie producers looking for props they don’t have to store and only for sure, high-quality, money-making productions;
Our Government on all levels would be forced by lack of revenue to go on a diet as people peacefully withdraw their money from high-tax products and jurisdictions;
The Natonal Debt would shrink to a salimander and maybe get swooped up by a bald eagle;
Our nation’s Citizens would have the resources to make us the world leader in Genetic Engineering, Life Extension, Cybernetics, Artificial Intelligence, Seasteading, private space travel and exploration, and much else;
And our Citizens could help make the rest of the world just as prosperous and free with both our example and our excess invested, rather than blood and treasure wasted.
And above all, Televangelists, Faith Healers, and Megachurchers would go the way of P.T. Barnum sideshows. “This Way To The Egress” with religious con-artists!
