Now this is what I’ve been wanting to see for the longest time: a technology that could be used to kill pain without killing people, in addition to it’s use on pre-existing addiction. I thought it might take the form of genetic modification of opiates, cocoa, and other drug plants, but this technology is even faster!

My only complaint about the article is a matter of style; I got through the whole article without seeing the acronym FUS defined as Focused Ultra-Sound. A quick Wiki search clarified it for me, but good science writing requires definition of terms and acronyms from the start with novices.

Woo-peddlers have also distorted and co-opted the meaning of terms like “de-tox,” “functional,” “quantum,” and “root causes,” so science writers sadly have have to use asterisks and clarify these terms too.

This aside, this is great news! This could end all the failures tried so far to deal with addiction, namely, Prohibition (which is making a comeback,) “The War on Drugs,” Methadone clinics, “12-Step Recovery,” and Bobby Brainworm’s proposed “Special camps.”

That’s about how I see it. Never say ‘trend’ or ‘predict.’

Also, it would be a mistake to extrapolate from the development and reformation of Christendom to understand the development and possible reformation of Islam.

Reformation in Christianity moved from following the authority of a Pope and Priesthood to following the authority of a Holy Text. Then, came the Renaissance and Enlightenment to question the authority of both.

By contrast, Islam was always based on the authority of the Qu’ran, Haddith, and Sunnah.. What’s missing with Islam is the equivalent of Renaissance and Enlightenment.

The Internet certainly does and will play the biggest role in Muslims altering or abolishing Islam. But of course, another big factor in this will be underming the control of the world’s petroleum-based energy by leaders in Islamic nations.

Finding and tapping both biotic and abiotic petroleum sources, as well as reviving nuclear energy and improving geothermal, hydro, solar, and wind energy can all play a role in undermining Islamic control of the world stage.
