    Yes, they always do it publicly. How else can they win a free and fair election every 20 years.  Their god is great and their fan clubs in the West will continue to justify their support for them.

    Reg and Jake,

    Not only is Hamas still around, but on last check, still hasn’t released all the remains of the dead hostages. And Hamas still upholds Islam as it’s ideology, including it’s war with the rest of humanity. And there are a total of 20 points to the Peace Plan where anything could go wrong and Trump still is under the delusion that he’s ended 3000 years of conflict.

    Ceasefires depend on both sides believing the other will abide by what they agreed to. The  track record isn’t great here. If Hamas remains in power and still armed, that undermines the logic of the ceasefire. They still don’t accept Israel’s right to exist. The Hamas Covenant of 1988 endorses an armed struggle until Israel is obliterated. It softened the rhetoric in 2017, saying the conflict is with “the Zionist project,” not Jews as a religion. I have heard that point argued by some woke sleepwalkers in the West,  but I don’t think I will ever find a rational person who can believe that is now Hamas’s position.

    For any realistic chance of long-term stability, Hamas will have to agree and then implement a reduction of its armed capability.  Israel will have to commit to a phased withdrawal. International monitors and peacekeepers with teeth should be deployed, with some independent verification of disarmament. If Hamas remains armed, the reconstruction funds will likely be ‘diverted’ to military ends rather than relief and to the indoctrination of another generation of children.

    Hamas caused this war. Within hours of the ceasefire, they were on a murder spree of their own people and killing rival gangs. Just as Gerry Adams’ infamous line “They haven’t gone away, you know” acknowledged the IRA’s lingering shadow even during the so-called peace process (here in Ireland), Hamas is very much still there, still armed, and still ideologically intact.

    The West Bank and Gaza are not in a post-conflict phase like Northern Ireland was after the Good Friday Agreement. The infrastructure of war, the tunnels, rockets, militias, and the indoctrination still exist. Until that changes, any “ceasefire” is just a pause between rounds.

    You can’t build peace while one side’s doctrine explicitly denies the other’s right to exist. Hamas hasn’t gone away and until the people of Gaza are governed by a leadership that values survival over martyrdom, the long-term odds of peace are slim to none. It’s time for the woke left to wake right up.

    Reg,

    I am gobsmocked by your lack of understanding. Such an aberration is hard to fathom. You’re ordinarily quite astute. So i will write this off as a one-off and educate you.

    Don’t you know that Hamas is at the forefront of the resistance against the evil zionist entity? Those brave leaders are spearheading the resistance to all forms of oppression. There is no greater evil than Jews in their own country. Coming from a tradition of equality and freedom as they do it would be anomalous to ascribe any but noble motives to their enterprise. And honestly Hamas just wants to make Jews live up to their own standards of justice and equality. Thus we hear among the cognoscenti, “Free Palestine, globalize the intifada.”

    How else can one explain the far left with its elevation of humanist values backing Hamas and demonizing Israel? Obviously they know of what they protest! It seems the more educated the greater the ire and antipathy to Israel and concomitantly adoration of Hamas.

    A little plunge into history might elucidate this unfortunate quagmire. So the Jews are all White Colonialist settlers with no connection to the land of Palestine. All Jews are White and have a history of colonizing and exploiting the countries they infest during their diaspora. That is why they’ve been exiled over 100 times!

    The Palestinians are the indigenous and noble tribe steeped in traditions exuding compassion and justice for all including the minorities of Palestine. The kingdom and later nation of Palestine has been unmolested by outsiders for 2 thousand plus years! (Israel on other hand is an apartheid state with land stolen from Palestinians by Jews where Israeli citizens who are minorities have no rights and are excluded from participation in affairs of state.)

    Well i don’t want to belabor the obvious but a little more history so that we can see clearly the pellucid waters of Palestinianism. So ya see in 1948 the rabblerousing Jewish scum were fighting to end the nation of Palestine. Aggressively colonizing Palestine as is consistent with their history of coming to foreign lands and exploiting the indigenous peoples. Power hungry Jews so avaricious in the wake of their own aggrandizement during WW11 that they just wanted to colonize more and more places. More than the English, Dutch, Spanish and Germans! They have to be number 1 in exploitation.

    Yea, to outright steal the land of the indigenous tribe. And because Jews have so much power and utilize their influence so diabolically the UN decided to partition Palestinian land to include a space for the Jewish colonialists. Well wouldn’t ya know it. Those Jews would not compromise and decided they must have all of the land so they attacked the Palestinians who had graciously agreed to the partition.

    More later if you need me to go on. I gotta see about a horse. It would have been better if i had to see about a girl.

    Ah yes, of course Jake, how could I have been so blind? The benevolent freedom fighters of Hamas, guardians of justice, protectors of women’s rights, LGBTQ+ citizens, and interfaith harmony everywhere. Their tireless work in turning Gaza into a beacon of pluralism and technological innovation over the last 20 years with no help from Israel clearly speaks for itself.

    And naturally, the Jews — those relentless colonialist masterminds — had the audacity to survive in the land where their entire history happened. The sheer nerve! One might think that a people with 3,000 years of continuous presence might have some connection to the place — but no, the academics of London and Berkeley have assured us that “indigenous” now means whoever yells loudest while holding the right placard.

    It’s truly inspiring how the Western intelligentsia, freshly graduated from gender studies and critical theory seminars, have become experts in Middle Eastern geopolitics overnight. They’ve read three Instagram posts and a Guardian op-ed, and now they can tell us all about “decolonization” through the noble act of murdering civilians.

    I now understand that Hamas’s rockets are actually just “a form of expression.” Think of them as cultural fireworks — the universal language of peace. And the tunnels under hospitals? Purely an urban planning initiative. The children’s textbooks glorifying martyrdom are but “empowerment literature.”

    Truly, the enlightened West understands it all: that peace will come only when Israel dismantles itself entirely and apologizes for existing. Because nothing says “social justice” quite like cheering for a theocratic death cult that executes its own people in the street.

    I have just attended a lecture in a re-education campus and would like to share my notes given by Professor Gaia Evergreen-Jones, PhD and Chair of Intersectional Resistance at the University of Moral Superiority. It should steer me towards the correct path. I must say I found it enlightening;

    Good evening, allies. Today we shall explore how one of the most enlightened organizations in the modern world — Hamas — courageously resists the horrors of electricity, female literacy, and democratic elections.

    Let us begin by acknowledging that Israel’s greatest crime is existence itself. The very act of surviving repeated attempts at annihilation reeks of privilege. Jews have cunningly appropriated victimhood since the 1940s — an unforgivable act of cultural theft from groups with genuine oppression credentials.

    Now, I know some of you may have heard troubling reports about Hamas launching rockets at civilians. But remember, in decolonial discourse, “rockets” are simply a form of speech — louder than tweets, perhaps, but no less valid. Their aim is not military victory but emotional expression — the poetry of resistance, if you will.

    And what of those tunnels beneath hospitals? Western media, steeped in Zionist propaganda, insists they’re used for smuggling weapons. In truth, they are eco-friendly subterranean safe spaces, meticulously crafted by artisans in the tradition of sustainable warfare.

    We must also celebrate Hamas’s dedication to progressive education. Where else will you find textbooks teaching children that martyrdom is the ultimate form of self-actualization? Compare that to the toxic Western obsession with STEM careers — clearly a form of capitalist indoctrination.

    Some critics argue that Hamas is homophobic and misogynistic. How quaintly Eurocentric! Cultural relativism teaches us that beheading dissidents is simply an alternative expression of community values.

    Now, contrast this with Israel, where women can drive, vote, and run for parliament. Clearly, this is an elaborate smokescreen to disguise the apartheid within. True equality, as we know, requires utter destruction of the oppressor, followed by panel discussions on trauma.

    In conclusion, let us chant together our department’s motto:

    “From the River to the Sea — but sustainably.”

    I now call myself re-educated. The following is how I used to see things but admitting I was wrong is empowering!!

    Many in the West, especially among the self-styled “progressive” class, have adopted a dangerously shallow moral framework when it comes to the Hamas–Israel conflict. They filter every global event through the same colonial-oppressor lens. Once that frame is set, facts become irrelevant; the story writes itself.

    Under this template, Israel — a democracy with an independent judiciary, free press, and equal rights for women and minorities — becomes the “colonizer.” Hamas — an Islamist movement that bans elections, executes dissenters, and indoctrinates children — becomes the “oppressed.” The cognitive dissonance is staggering.

    The mistake begins with moral inversion. When you treat terrorism as “resistance,” murder becomes protest, and self-defense becomes aggression. That reversal lets Western activists preserve their ideological purity while ignoring the actual victims of Hamas, including Palestinians themselves.

    Euphemism is the next refuge. Rockets become “statements.” Massacres are “clashes.” Indoctrination is “cultural expression.” This language laundering lets moral cowards sound compassionate while denying reality.

    The selective empathy is just as corrosive. Israel is condemned for defending its population; Hamas is excused for hiding behind its own. Western campaigners weep for Gaza’s children but never for the children used as shields by their rulers.

    What drives this blindness isn’t compassion but moral vanity. It feels good to stand with the supposed underdog, even when that “underdog” is a fucking theocratic militia. Complexity doesn’t fit into slogans, so it’s ignored. The result is a culture that mistakes feeling righteous for being right.

    Real moral clarity requires evidence and consistency. Sympathy for Palestinian civilians is justified and necessary but it must never extend to justifying Hamas. Until the West can separate humanitarian concern from ideological indulgence, it will keep rewarding extremism and punishing those who defend themselves.

    That horse i mentioned saw the winner’s circle. An equine indulgence by design.

    “Real moral clarity requires evidence and consistency. Sympathy for Palestinian civilians is justified and necessary but it must never extend to justifying Hamas. Until the West can separate humanitarian concern from ideological indulgence, it will keep rewarding extremism and punishing those who defend themselves.”

    Humanitarian concerns ought to be the only concerns. Ideology is poison. Causes reason to falter. Norms to violate reasonable standards. Mythology to grow and ideologues to overidentify with their beliefs furthering polarization and enmity.

    Come to a consensus on some fundamental precepts and agree as a species to enforce or counter as the case may be the frustration of those basic precepts. Does not matter where and why certain things actions/behaviors are simply wrong. Whatever ya do remain flexible and resist a movement becoming a religion like Maga or leftyism.

    Yeah right. Don’t preach. It is hopeless.

    Another thing.

    As long as the world is fixated on Jews our world will be fucked up. Jews are a tiny insignificant minority relative to world population and yet it feels like they take up 95 percent of the social media and networks. That level of fixation is and can be only driven by ideology. By a powerful and enduring mind virus of hatred. If i do write Lezbrews and a lefty reads it quite possibly the message will be missed simply because of the association between brews and Hebrews. There is no question that no other minority would be scapegoated and subjected to such ahistorical narratives/mythology and guilt by association. Oh it is just the government you hate? And Israel is the only nation formed in a way that you disapprove thus denying the self determination of this one group? Surrounded by enemies who are bent on the state’s destruction and killing Jews and they simply do not stop. It is THE PRIORITY. Generation after generation of Jew hatred and the dream of killing Jews and wiping out Israel. Such a degerate culture. And yet you side with the ‘resistance’. People who just want to live in peace. People who could have easily and without losses committed a genocide. And yet it is resistance to a settler white colonizer?

    Mathematically it is impossible to care about Christians being slaughtered in Nigeria by boka boka. Children starving to death in Somalia and Sudan. Millions of Muslims killed by other Muslims. Girls being married off and raped. Gays being thrown from buildings. Attention is otherwise focused.

    Not only that but the ideology or religion of hate discards instances of cruelty if it tends to undermine the religion. That is why the lefty’s did not care about women in Iran being executed for no reason that any sane individual would honor. And that is why apostates from Islam who have escaped unspeakable oppression despise lefty’s. Useful idiots is the go-to put down.

    Apply the highest standards to Jews and find a way to condemn by spinning, lying and distorting at all costs. The idea of genocide is incredibly pervasive and yet it is a joke but it was totally predictable. Jews were gonna cause WW3 by attacking Iran. Confronting an issue that was not going away and increasing the probability of overthrowing that despotic and genocidal regime and in doing so weakening its many terrorist proxies that threaten not only Jews and Israel but western civilization.

    At the same time no standards whatsoever for the noble savages or Muslims. Don’t even try to criticize the ideas or you are a bigot/racist. How will the Islamic world be reformed without criticism? If that isn’t stupid enough lefty’s have encouraged the onslaught of Islam into the west. Not hard to invision blood being spilt. Lots of it. And zero doubt Muslims will be reviled instead of the degenerate beliefs that are inculcated from birth and that very few have the intellectual capability of rejecting.

    Reg and Jake,

    Both of you are absolutely on fire for Israel! In fact, I think Reg is actually giving Jake a challenge on who can be the bigger Zionist!

    “Professor Gaia Evergreen-Jones, PhD and Chair of Intersectional Resistance at the University of Moral Superiority.”. That was some gut-busting funny art imitating cringy, absurd life! 🤡😄

    But let your rivalry be friendly, over some cross-cultural corned beef, fat-free and infused with cayenne to keep the blood pressure healthy and the fermented, distilled potato squeezin’s of your choice.🍖🍸

    If only more minds shared both of you guys’ zeal and intellect, there would be more reason to hope for a happier ending to the Gaza-Israel War, as well as hope for no more wars starting up in the Middle East.

    Enco,

    Reg is funny and has precisely what is missing in the great majority. Not just intelligent and resistant to persuasion through popularity but an honest approach to issues that is ideal.

    Meanwhile Israel is guilty of being above the fray in not wanting to justify itself. I get that. But it is really destructive. Israel needs a department of counter-propaganda. There are a few excellent mouthpieces for Israel but it is grossly insufficient to fight the cult of Jew haters.

    There is so much that the indoctrinated lefties and Muslims could learn. To see the actual influences and know how they have been played could be life altering. This only applies to the sophomoric and well-intentioned who are lacking in critical thinking. Many are imo bigots/racists who are loving the intellectualization that enables open Jew hate. I respect nazis a lot more than those lefties who know better.

    Einat Wilf explains some of the M.O. of lefty/Muslim Jew hate:

    ״This is what I call the “placard strategy.” It is ingenious in that it employs a simple and constantly repeated equation, worthy of a kindergarten. On one side is the word “Israel” or “Zionism,” or even merely an image of the Star of David. On the other side, after an = sign, there is a litany of words that have become signifiers of evil.

    Thus:
    Zionism = Racism
    Zionism = Apartheid
    Zionism = Genocide

    These are endlessly recycled on placards, in media and on social media and, most consequentially, in academia and at the United Nations.

    Academia is key to conferring a sense of authority on the process of equating Zionism with all of the world’s evils. As the Wilson Center scholar Izabella Tabarovsky has shown, this process works through the writing of papers that are then cross-referenced to create a tightly woven structure that becomes nearly impenetrable. (This is why what happens at Harvard actually matters.) Laundering the placard strategy through the United Nations, as with the 1975 “Zionism = Racism” resolution of the General Assembly, also lends authority to these equations; but most valuably, it creates the arena in which the message that the collective Jew equals evil enjoys a “general agreement.” South Africa’s bringing the charges of genocide against Israel at the International Court of Justice is of a piece with this playbook.

    The placard strategy—with its nursery-rhyme repetition of a simple message in numerous forums, combined with academic authority and the imprimatur of U.N. bodies—leads to only one logical outcome. It is the one seen in recent demonstrations, in which a Star of David is placed in a trash bin labeled “Keep the World Clean.” If Israel, Zionism, and the Star of David are evil, then evil must be eradicated. Moreover, it must be put in the trash and eradicated because on the other side of this process awaits a world of justice, rights, equality, and freedom.

    It is no coincidence that while all the evil words are made to be associated with the collective Jew, all the good words are made to be associated with those fighting the collective Jew. And more than any other placard, “Keep the World Clean” from the Star of David is the one that should lead Jews to see the ultimate purpose of the entire project: a world without the collective Jew. Indeed, the idea that the collective Jew is what stands between this world and utopia is an ancient one with deadly consequences.״

    Some big No Trump protests today.

    Crowd got something correct even if it is by accident. Kind of like Trump….gets something right occasionally by accident. Or when his self interest coincides with the right move.

    @jakelafort – the ‘stopped clock’  cartoon in the current edition of the satirical Private Eye would agree with you 🙂
