The following is in extra long detail for beginners, but once you get the hang of it, it’s only a ten to thirty second task.

    PHOTOS & GRAPHICS

    • First, know where your photo or graphic file is. Its source can be your device/computer, or from online via a link to Google Drive, OneDrive, Flikr, a file previously uploaded to Atheist Zone, etc.
    • JPG, PNG, and GIF formats are accepted.
    • If your source is online, copy its link/URL–usually with a right-click in Windows, or a long click or long press on other devices.

Next, while editing your post, make sure the “Visual” tab is selected, as the “Text” tab is useful only to more advanced users.

Click or tap on the photo icon button just above the post, which will present a dialog box. Specify the source of the photo or graphic either by pasting a link/URL into the blank field, or by clicking on the button next to it for finding the file on your device.

The other fields in the dialog box are optional, but it would be nice if you could enter a short description for sight impaired readers in the “Image Description” field.

After you click on the OK button, just wait a moment for the photo or graphic to upload to Atheist Zone, then continue editing your post.

    VIDEOS

    • First, know where the video is. If it’s online, copy its link/URL–usually with a right-click in Windows, or a long click or long press on other devices.
    • While editing your post, make sure the “Visual” tab is selected, as the “Text” tab is useful only to more advanced users.
    • Just copy and paste an URL to the video on its own line, with no other text on either side of it. (Do not use embed code.) For example:

Text in paragraph above it blah blah blah… https://youtu.be/DMdhQsHbWTs
Text in paragraph below it blah blah blah…

After submitting your post, instead of actually seeing the video’s URL (as above), you should now see a clickable picture of the video itself.
    FILES (e.g. PDFs)

    OTHER FILES

    • You can usually share a personal file (of any type) from your Google Drive, just by clicking on the file’s menu and selecting “create a link” (or something like that. Then just paste the link into your post. However, it seems that anyone who opens the file can look at its details, which would be fine, except I’m seeing that one of those details listed is the file owner’s name or handle, i.e. your google account name.
    • DropBox has an option to share file links that you can just paste into your post, and as far as I can tell the owner’s user name is not disclosed, i.e. your DropBox identity remains anonymous/invisible to anyone with access to the file.
