As in most groups, this one has two areas: Home, and Forum. See their bold fonted buttons, below, right underneath this group description.
*Home* lists twitter-like ‘updates’; short and random in content, with the newest updates at the top. To add an update, use the ‘What’s new…’ input box right above the existing updates.
A *Forum*, on the other hand, is an area for Topics with in-depth, two-way discussion. In Forums, you see a list of Topics, and can start a new Topic at the bottom of the Forum’s page.
So the Forum area, not the Home area, is where one can rely on posts to “stick around”, while the Home area’s posts kind of fall off the edge of the Home page over time, like a disappearing act.
The MOST CONFUSING thing to newcomers about this design may be that Forum activity gets DUPLICATED to the Home area, unsorted by topic, but sorted by age.
So again, when in doubt, a Topic in the Forum area is likely the best place to post instead of the Home area.
[Unrelated side-note: A + sign in the beginning of a group name signifies that the group serves as a starting point or guide to other groups. If you create a new Group, don’t use a + sign in the beginning of its name.]
