  • Many years ago when I was young and naive, I went to Catholic school and Catholic church. I was always in trouble for questioning the nuns and the priests. I always said for them to show me actual proof that your vicious god and his bastard son exist.

    • I have a similar story. When I scored the highest grades on the SATs in the diocese they called me in and suspected that I cheated somehow because I was just a ‘A/B’ student. I told them no; I just hate this school your ridiculous baby level science and math classes and prefer to learn in my own way.

  • I really do not see what all the fuss is about when it comes to religion. Let’s face reality here. “ALL” religion is evil. They talk about doing good things and do another. I personally feel that all religions be abolished as they serve no useful purpose whatsoever.

    • Yeah but some religions (and other kinds of authoritarianism) is more evil than others, imo. Coincidentally, I’m about to put some hours (again) into charity work, and the only charity game in town is run by a big church with a lot of people who care about homeless and abused women and children, while atheists here have no such game…[Read more]

      • Pope B, that is commendable. Tell us, is there a brainwashing price one typically pays to receive the charity or is truly from the joy of giving.

        • I’ve been on the receiving end of this same charity, and can tell you they never asked questions, and they never mentioned Jesus or God. Perhaps I just got lucky in more ways than one.
