Reg, LLM’s are improving leaps and bounds. Based on how much it has improved so quickly next year i bet there won’t be no shit Sherlock moments. When it first came out and would spit out these junky poems i thought i do that all of the time. Might take me a minute longer or so.
Recently i was engaging with AI and trying to recall the places Portugal invaded. One of em was Canada. Had forgotten they got there before French and English. And then the wars and battles were brought up. I saw battle of Quebec and thought there was a famous poem inspired by it. Thomas Gray wrote two of em. The Battle of Quebec and his Elegy in a Country Churchyard. So i asked META to write a poem in style of Gray about Hamas, Israel and Gaza.
A Lament for Innocence Lost
In Gaza’s darkened alleys, where shadows reign,
A bloodthirsty fervor, fuels Hamas’s refrain,
With knives and guns, they seek their prey,
And jubilant cries, echo through the day.
Their hearts aflame, with hatred’s fire,
They revel in death, and human desire,
To murder, torture, humble and defile,
The Jewish soul, their target, all the while.
But Israel’s spirit, unbroken and strong,
Endures the pain, and carries on,
Through tears and sorrow, they stand as one,
Their resolve unshaken, like the morning sun.
Their cries to heaven, a plea for peace,
Echo through the land, a heartfelt release,
For an end to violence, an end to strife,
And a dawn of hope, to banish endless life.
Let justice reign, and innocence be spared,
Let love and mercy, be the hearts that are bared,
And though the darkness, may seem to prevail,
May Israel’s light, forever set sail.
