He admires militaristic dictators and has kind words for Hitler with his “loyal generals” (even though they tried to assassinate him several times), so do his ambitions know any bounds whatsoever.
While he appreciates Putin and his regime, I have no doubt that his ego is huge enough to toss Putin under the bus.
Do his ambitions stop short of total world domination? Are we looking at any thing less than an attempt at a Fourth Reich?

November 8, 2024 at 11:44 pm #55166Just think of how much damage Hitler did with a military that wouldn’t stand a ghost of a chance against America’s.
November 9, 2024 at 1:45 am #55167I remember years ago you said something along the lines that our human rights are only real because some government is there to give and uphold those rights to us. Now with the high court and congress all under our new king-elect, those rights are in peril. We will know how bad it is gonna get when we see how hard he starts going after his political enemies. I see they are putting his felony sentencing on hold already and dropping cases. Are they are scared of him?

As for the Federal cases, pursuing them is rather pointless now, isn’t it? He can drag them out into his term and then use his Justice Dept. to pull the plug. Why waste taxpayer dollars.
On the bright side, there’s nothing stopping Jack Smith from releasing just about all the evidence including grand jury proceedings.
I’m wondering if E. Jean Carroll and New York State will ever see a dollar of the judgments they have against him? Jake?
November 9, 2024 at 4:04 am #55170Smith should keep trying and make the king pardon himself. Worth every penny. But yeah, the evidence should be fun at least.
When Trump/Musk kills the Affordable Care Act, and cuts pensions, Medicare and Social Security at least we won’t have illegal Mexicans picking our veggies. People will die for their Orange Mussolini and probably be happy about it too.

Whatever he might get away with pardoning himself on won’t be worth prosecuting until he’s ex-President. Assuming he lives to be 80-something. Trump and neo-GOP might screw average Americans up so badly that they won’t be so forgiving and gullible about his “saving America” bullshit. It might become more in the cards for him to be prosecuted later.
Or I’m just wishing.

Here’s a view on how Trump won’t be as effective as he promises with Putin vs Ukraine.
I like this guy, he almost always speaks with expertise, especially on military topics. His ads are corny, but at least he doesn’t take himself too seriously. 9 minutes.
November 9, 2024 at 1:04 pm #55173Nice summary, Pope. I never felt like Putin would be done after taking the Donbass or the entire country of Ukraine. That scenario makes no sense, and the Soviets understood that very well. The neighbor states (old Soviet bloc) in the area such as Finland and Poland seem to concur as they are more proportionally supplying Ukraine and gearing up.
I see that Taiwan, Japan, South Korea are gearing up as well. WW3 might be right around the corner. Democracy has been under pressure for the past 15 years. A whole lot of our inherited ape genetics that wants that alpha male gorilla to be in charge. Speaking of dumb gorillas, Trump tariffs will just incentivize China. They will have less to lose.
November 10, 2024 at 6:32 pm #55199November 11, 2024 at 4:46 pm #55210Somebody told The Orange One about recess appointments which would allow him to make cabinet and judicial appointments, including Appeals Court and Supreme Court justices, without any sort of confirmation process while waiting to assume the presidency. If invoked it could last up to 2 years, and probably would.
November 11, 2024 at 5:40 pm #55211That sounds bad Unseen. It is getting worse before it has even started! Stephen ‘the child catcher’ Miller is to become deputy chief of staff.

November 13, 2024 at 5:05 am #55228WTF?!?!? Elon Musk in charge of “Government Efficiency????”
November 13, 2024 at 5:06 am #55229Next thing you know Trump’s going to start a new White House Jack off program, I wonder who will be in charge of that.
