There is a suggestion that Vance has somehow arranged for Trump to be poisoned with arsenic. Bear (in Central Park) with me for a second….but did you consider where RFK put that brain worm when he had it removed? That could explain a lot.
That worm was starving to death when they pulled it out. Not enough sustenance. Whatever was left had the nutrition of air.
November 7, 2024 at 8:01 pm #55156Is Bernie right? That the Dems lost by being concerned with stuff the working class considers secondary (democracy, abortion, and I think I could add LGBTQ rights, since Trump ads locally were often about boys competing in girls’ sports). Sure she talked about taking on price gouging, but she really had a hard time separating herself from Biden. She spent very little time on immigration reform which, after the economy, was the Trump voter’s #2 issue.
November 7, 2024 at 9:56 pm #55159Bernie is correct but the difference is more than just that. “Great Again” was when a woman totally needed a man to thrive, blacks were 2nd class and LGBTQ were closeted. That’s what this is all really about.
November 8, 2024 at 12:35 am #55160I read somewhere that Trump suffers from ‘delusions of adequacy’.

LOL. I am just plain embarrassed for the country. High speed internet is all it took to kill the republic. No one even needs to tell me our president-elect-felon never read a book.
November 8, 2024 at 5:17 pm #55164It’s likely J.D. Vance will have to take over at some point because of Trump’s age and (though he denies it) poor health and mental decline, and so we have to consider what the country will look like under the regime of someone who thinks childless cat ladies are anathema, if not actual minions of Satan himself.
November 9, 2024 at 2:02 pm #55175…just let the boomers finish off what is left…
Hey. Don’t blame ME, I voted for Harris.
And ever since 2020 voted straight Dem. Get those REPUgnants out of office.

Me too but the red hat boomers and very surprisingly, a shitload of Gen Z “Zoomers” as well, have spoken. I saw them at every busy intersection waving their incredibly witty “Fuck Biden” signs. I saw Hispanics for Trump, Black for Trump, Cops for Trump, and Veterans for Trump. They want the autocrat and his oligarchy.
Are American voters stupid as hell or just incredibly misinformed? Or both. And what about the 30% who don’t even vote? MAGA has congress, they own the courts and the executive. No one else to blame and get angry at now. I guess I will just do the best I can and try not to watch it burn.
November 9, 2024 at 4:27 pm #55177How long before Trump voters realize they fucked up.
Will it take breaking up families where the husband or wife is here on a green card? Will it take sending out troops to quell peaceful protests of his policies? Will it take detaining and arresting left-leaning journalists? How about abandoning Ukraine to Russia or provoking China or N. Korea into war? How about a national ban on contraceptives and abortion. How about when their Social Security disbursements stop?
Will it be when his tariff and immigration policies spark record-setting inflation and they realize what an economic dunce he is?

November 9, 2024 at 4:51 pm #55179This is my favorite Youtube election analyst. He really drills down into the nuts and bolts and looks behind the curtain to see what’s really going on.
It turns out Trump was propelled into office largely by unexpected gains among Hispanics:
November 9, 2024 at 6:50 pm #55181When it comes to dealing with immigrants and resistance to Trump’s policies, he does have several powerful tools at his disposal.
One: Trump has two very potent tools to use in his (hopefully) final four year term. First, The Alien Enemies act of 1798, which allows the President to detain and deport native and citizens of an enemy nation. It’s a wartime power.
Two, the Insurrection Act of 1807 and the related Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 allow and supposedly limit his ability to use the military against Americans within the U.S. I say “supposedly” for reasons which will become clear.
Former Federal Prosecutor Shan Wu discusses the Alien Enemies Act here:
Devin J. Stone, the expert behind the LegalEagle Youtube channel explains the Insurrection Act and the Posse Comitatus Act:
Finally, as a last resort, he can declare a national emergency and do whatever he deems necessary. Theoretically, this power is limited by Congress (though both houses will be held by the GOP) and ultimately the Supreme Court. However, bear in mind this sobering thought: ALL enforcement power of acts of Congress and the courts reside in the Executive Branch, which will be under the control of one Donald J. Trump.
November 9, 2024 at 7:51 pm #55182I have been saying for so many years how I’m moving out of this country, goodbye and good riddance. I’m not at a place where I can do it just yet but I’m getting there… I cannot wait to call myself an expat. Ever since the day the Trump become the nominee of the Republican party for the very first time I knew it was over. I was having nightmares before the election that he was going to win and my worst nightmares came true. I knew he was going to win, even though everyone told me that was absolutely not possible. I always say there’s so many stupid people here in this country and I just can’t believe it. I hate the fact that I was right. The next thing that I feel really strongly about is, I think he’s going to cause a Civil War. I hope I’m wrong this time.

I would definitely like to live in Italy. We look into it from time to time. Unfortunately, my wife’s mother gave up her Italian citizenship to come here.
