Matt
ParticipantHi All,
Just wanted to say that the new site looks like it will allow us to continue our discussions but, I’m finding the font of forums posts to be a light grey text on a white background. I’m guessing I’m not the only one who doesn’t like that.Umar, can we get either a dark theme similar to TA or at least darken up the forum text of the current theme? I’d be happy to look at the CSS and advise how we can do this if need be.
Thanks,
Matt-

BethParticipantI don’t know if it’s up for vote but I actually prefer the lighter background here to TA’s darker one. But I agree the font should be darker as it is a bit hard to read.

SteveInCOParticipantI’ve already sometimes mistaken plain text for a link, because links are apparently in black, like text normally would be (if on a light background), and vice versa.

RebelKeymasterI agree with you all fonts are no ok. I shall contact theme author to improve fonts. Making fonts bigger is easy and quick solution.

Simon PayntonParticipantIn the news feed, please can you make the word “replied” link to the reply in the forum or blog? Thanks.

ParticipantI agree, the design overall could use a bit more contrast.

DavisParticipantWhat attracted me to thinkatist was the attractive chunky style. It was very pleasant on eye…if not beautiful. Would be a pity to lose that

Simon PayntonParticipantHow do I add pictures to my profile?
July 8, 2015 at 1:01 pm #162
RebelKeymasterI have increased font size and changed link color.
@simonpaynton Photo option is not available. I shall try to find a gallery/photo plugin.July 8, 2015 at 1:28 pm #164
Simon PayntonParticipantOK thanks umar.

UnseenParticipantMy main problem with the theme is that the gray isn’t dark enough. Ditto for the baby blue. It can be hard to see what I’m doing.

UnseenParticipantApparently, there is no threading(?). I just replied to a post by a member. His post was not the last in the thread, but my reply showed up at the bottom of the page. If this software has the ability to maintain threads, please switch it on or these forums will become chaotic. What I did was I edited my reply to begin with @Matt, but that’s an imperfect solution.

SteveInCOParticipant@Unseen this can be mitigated by doing @ signs like I just did.
We had one frequent user who simply *would not* use the threads properly, and her replies would end up at the bottom. So threading isn’t a cure all.
One advantage to NOT threading is it’s easy to go to the first unread comment, then just keep reading, With a threaded post, they can be scattered all over the place.

UnseenParticipant@SteveInCO, if you’re thinking of B****, she was posting on her phone, but she has a computer now.
It there isn’t going to be threading, it’s going to be interesting trying to keep track of things.

Simon PayntonParticipant“So threading isn’t a cure all.” – but it’s very useful for having conversations. We need threading back. You can’t blame ***** for having no threading.
