Epoch Times is one of the most biased newspapers I’ve ever seen, and yet (of course) they sell themselves as being unbiased.

Just taking a peak at headlines on their politics page, I’m betting all of them are pro-Trump. (No longer a subscriber, I can’t actually read them, and wouldn’t mind being proven wrong.) Here are the first five headlines on their Politics page:

(As I’ve mentioned before, this is a newspaper run by Chinese expats, with strong interest/ownership in American business, and sympathy for persecuted orgs and people in China.)

You can see that in the Institute for Nonprofit News’ most recent INN Index, which serves as an industry census of sorts. The total number of nonprofit news outlets increased nearly 70% between 2017 and 2021 — but the number of local nonprofits more than doubled. Five years ago, about 20% of nonprofits covered local news; now it’s 42% and rising. And the markets being served have gotten smaller.
