I literally lost more than 27kg in six weeks when I developed kidney problems (60 pounds or 5 stone). It horrified the shit out of my friends who didn’t see in between the before-and-after phase. Want to know the secret? I promise you it doesn’t involve any magic, woo or complicated diet skills. Simply: develop hypertension and renal problems, vomit out most of what you eat and lose almost all your appetite. Sit in a bed with negative energy for weeks, have a tube stuck through your neck and have your blood filtered through a machine. Bonus part: leave the hospital and never see a single bill, do any paperwork or have to worry about premiums, pre-existing conditions, supplementary costs or bill-shock. So yeah…if you live in a socialist country you can do all of this weight loss for free 🙂

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModerator27kg in six weeks. Yikes, that has to be considered a “life changing” event. I know someone that recently shed about 35KG in 3 months after a double heart attack. He has followed all the medical advice and is living a normal life now. In fact he is healthier looking each time I see him. Regular walks and healthy diet. His hospital bill was a little more than yours as he paid for movies on demand in his private room. Damn those socialists and their “equality agenda”.

DavisParticipantYeah I was insanely lucky not to need transplants. Was off work for over a year. That communist Spanish government covered my sick leave for just over a year until I was able to work again. Can you imagine being taken care of so you can recover faster without stressing over finances/rent/non-rest? That sounds like an absolutely ghastly attack on freedom doesn’t it?

I have been working on physical fitness and weight loss. From where I started, 30kg was about what I wanted to lose. No one offered me this plan. I do like tubes, but the rest doesn’t sound like much fun.
Just as well though. While hospitals are usually the funnest places on Earth, I’ve been trying to avoid them what with Covid and all (though I didn’t have much luck at the start of the pandemic).

ParticipantVaccine refusal will cost everybody in the long run.
I am curious what the vaccination rates will be region to region once everyone who wants to be vaccinated and can be vaccinated has been vaccinated. It seems very few should have medical restrictions prohibiting them from vaccination.
What is bothersome about so many issues we make as individuals is that the impacts of our decisions can’t just stay with us. If it were just about the cost of someone getting sick or the economic losses if they are taken from the work force, I wouldn’t care. If it were just about someone taking on personal risk, I wouldn’t care. But vaccine efficacy is a numbers game. Not everyone will be able to be vaccinated. Not everyone who is vaccinated will be perfectly immune, and spending time in the hospital uses resources that are more limited than money.
Time will tell.

I forget. We have ambient weather all year round so we need to be in shape almost all year.
