TheEncogitationerParticipantJake,
The way lefties arrive at the indefensible?
It is not a product of reason. That is for sure.
It is a mythology. Beliefs. They didn’t reason their way into those positions and most are incapable of reasoning their way out. Again, is there anything so fucking stupid, retarded, degenerate, outlandish, improbable, transparent, juvenile that it will be eschewed?
On the right it is an appeal to authority. Still amazes me that Trump is a cult hero. Such charisma? They believe in him wholeheartedly. They surrendered. Had them at You’re fired.
On the left it is a veneer of intellectual superiority. The vast majority of humans simply do not question shit. Once those beliefs are cooked in and inseparable from identity it is not easy to dislodge the offal.
True, we aren’t reasoned into mythological offal, but those who do use reason and question the awful offal do so by choice. This Forum is proof and so are all the Kufir who break off from Islam and who crawl out of the rabbit holes of Leftism or MAGAism. Not easy. but possible.

TheEncogitationerParticipantUnseen,
There’s nothing “indefensible” about believing it’s indefensible to use starvation as a political tool.
True, but all the Mainstream Media copycats are no more clear about this subject than The New York Times was in the days of Walter Duranty. They’ll either make up famines or deny real famines as suits the pet ideology of the moment.

jakelafortParticipantThe disappointment to be apprised of how Gazans are not being starved is palpable. It must be fake news.
Some reasonably large poll in USA indicates 65 percent of Dems believe Israel is committing genocide. And obviously a much smaller percent of republicans. More young than old of course think it is genocide. As Rome burns…

Reg the Fronkey FarmerModeratorThe article in the JP mentions that the children being photographed in the arms of their well fed mothers are suffering from genetic disorders. It is estimated that 25%–50% of Palestinian marriages are consanguineous, with first-cousin marriages being the most common form. Rates can be even higher in certain rural areas or refugee populations where cultural, economic, or social factors limit partner selection. In some regions, it’s not only accepted but preferred so it is not surprising that Hamas would take advantage of such “photo-ops”. It’s not like it would be their first time to manipulate the media.
The main leaders of Hamas, who live between Doha, Qatar and possibly Turkey now, should use 10% of their estimated $10 billion combined fortune to help Gaza. Let’s start a campaign for them to feed the people who democratically elected them in 2006…… What media outlets should we ask to support us?
August 6, 2025 at 5:18 pm #58345
jakelafortParticipantMakes me think of Blacks who were charged with fake crimes and convicted on fake evidence. And those White juries who convicted on evidence that never should have been admissible. Rationalization: Fuck em. N’r may or may not have done this crime but he has done others and besides he is a N’r. I don’t have to finish the syllogism.

That make this whole mess in Gaza all the more disgusting. The greatest threat to the health of Palestinian children is incestuousness of their parents, yet somehow it’s still the fault of Da Joooz. This is enough to bring puke to the palate.

TheEncogitationerParticipantReg,
Environment: The bad Science and bad Policy at the heart of the Climate Movement
I meant to tell you earlier, this was a pretty good article.
I must confess, Climate Change isn’t in my wheel house much and I haven’t studied all the science about it, but I’ve had some thoughts on this subject:
If Carbon Dioxide is the culprit behind Global Warning, wouldn’t it have been an even greater problem in times past when humans burned wood, peat moss, manure, whale oil, and coal for fuel? When humans would burn acres of forests to get space for crops, construction, or even just to get a bead on wildlife hunting?
And speaking of coal, there are underground coal seams that have been burning naturally for hundreds, some even thousands of years. Could these be a source of Carbon Dioxide as well?

https://gizmodo.com/the-worlds-oldest-underground-fire-has-been-burning-fo-1539049759The article you cited had a reference to a recent volcano Hunga Tonga that was as powerful as the famous Krakatoa (East of Java) that spewed tons of water into the atmosphere and affected climate globally. Could shifting tectonic plates also release Carbon Dioxide from beneath the Earth as well?
And would more Carbon Dioxide be a universally bad thing? Sure, you might not be able to have that beach house, but wouldn’t the trade-off be longer growing seasons and more food, more trees to suck back up the Carbon Dioxide, and a greater fresh water supply to irrigate deserts?
Again, I’m just a Layman not an expert with genuine questions and no agenda except staying alive and free.

jakelafortParticipantIt occurs to me that a novel might be the best way to illustrate the hypocrisy, double standards, failure of critical thinking, urgency of critical thinking that comes with popular fanatical beliefs, the harm caused by irrational beliefs especially when they are inherently racist and based on ahistorical mythology, the need to address human suffering without putting it through the moronic lens of politics. Aaah and my personal observation about how we are as a species conditioned and how few can think for themselves and avoid being swept up by the contemporary rivers. And therefore we need to stop the identity politics that comes on both sides of the aisle and instead address the influences on beliefs and behavior. Islamophobia is a concept that should be dropped like a bad habit.
So it would be modeled after the actual history of the Jews. In their stead a mythical group of lesbians. I’d call em the Lezbrews. It might make the current climate as clear as the story of a woman walking into a bar in a low cut skirt with a low cut top and being gang-raped. Rapists say “fuckin bitch had it coming dressed like a whore.”
Literally there is no other minority group who would be vulnerable to this typhoon of demonization. It is a typhoon that just keeps on giving. And i am not saying Israel is perfect. Amazing, yes. Better than other middle eastern nations? Obviously. Has it committed war crimes during the Gaza war. I am certain that individual IDF soldiers have done that. As a nation though the policies and practices in the most difficult setting and with Hamas intending to sacrifice its Gazans and in a middle eastern climate of unending hatred where literally dropping the weapons and being passive means a holocaust again a paradigm of decency. It goes that way with all wars. What would the over/under on war crimes be in the Vietnam war? In WW11? The latter in the millions. Probably tens of millions.

TheEncogitationerParticipantFellow Unbelievers,
Sorry, I didn’t mean to quotate my own remarks above. That would be vain to do on purpose.

I don’t know where you get some of this stuff sometimes, but it would be a hit at the erotica section of the book store. With PragerU and Ben Shapiro not so much.

I said the novel would be popular! How is that Racist except in the Craig Ferguson/Producer Michael sense?
By the bye, late night television died when Craig Ferguson went off the air years ago. Fallon, Stewart, Kimmel, and Colbert, all posers by comparison. Gutfeld and Maher could learn from Craig Ferguson and get their own Gay Robot Skeleton and Pantomime Horse Mascots.

jakelafortParticipantWhen a sweet Lezbrews thanks you for the coffee it is code for something else. She is aware but not woke. You had a meaningful conversation but it feels like you never spoke. Will you be shamed into ghosting her?
Enco that was the sense in which i was racisting you. Did not even know the Scottish guy was history.

jakelafortParticipantThe dust settled and an imposing woman with her shield at her side strode into the quorum with the insouciance of an aristocrat among her inferiors. She was greeted with stark expressions for having violated the sanctity of the proceedings. “How dare you enter the temple when we are deciding whether to go to war!”
