Lets hope the left continues to empower Islam.

Here is some of their good work. And only 7 of 10 women report being mental or very mental. Human rights need not be extended to those who are born into a death cult. Those people have CHOSEN to live that way and who are we to judge of their culture? Besides what makes one culture better than another?

I don’t get why anyone would believe in stuff because they want to, rather than because they think it’s true.

We need to make a distinction between belief and inquiry. You can choose to examine a claim, expose yourself to arguments for it, avoid contrary evidence, join a community that reinforces it, or repeatedly rehearse certain ideas. Those choices can influence what you eventually believe. But you cannot simply perform the mental act: “I hereby believe X” while still regarding X as false or unsupported.

We can choose what evidence to examine and how critically to examine it, but we cannot directly choose what convinces us. Belief is the consequence of being convinced, not the decision to become convinced.

Jon Cohen is ‘Unconvinced’. (His videos are very good).

    Simon:

I don’t get why anyone would believe in stuff because they want to, rather than because they think it’s true. I feel we have some kind of duty to the truth to be open-minded, independent-minded and anti-authoritarian in our thinking, and to let facts speak for themselves. I assume people don’t know they’re being cross-eyed. In other words, good thinking habits can take us a long way.

I concur on believing only that which is true and good thinking habits. But I wouldn’t think them in terms of duty, but rather efficacy. Life just goes better and is easier to master when you acknowledge reality. As Francis Bacon so famously observed: “Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed.”

    Fellow Unbelievers:

Some very concerning news for Unbelievers and all U.S Citizens:

Trump Official Declares $4 Billion in Taxpayer Funds “God’s Money”—Now Critics Fear Evangelicals Are Being Urged to Seize the Cash

Trump Official Declares $4 Billion in Taxpayer Funds “God’s Money”—Now Critics Fear Evangelicals Are Being Urged to Seize the Cash

Dave Donaldson thinks both Caesar and God are entitled to the fruits of your labor and that Trump is their collector:

More than one-quarter of the $4 billion has reportedly been reserved for new participants—an amount the administration described as historic.

But Donaldson’s attempt to persuade hesitant faith leaders to pursue the money immediately raised alarms.

“I heard the other day, a faith leader said to me, ‘We shouldn’t touch that government money,’” Donaldson said. “But how many know ultimately it’s not the government’s money? It’s God’s money, and it’s your tax dollars.”

Nowhere is it addressed that Trump’s Tariffs and inflationary spending and energy prices resulting from a half-assed war have made affording rent and mortgage payments and home construction and room and board expenses more expensive.

Nor is it mentioned how Trump is continuing and ramping up “The War on Drugs,” which has exacerbated the drug problems of street people by making drugs more expensive and addiction treatment harder to pursue.

Nor does anyone address the local zoning and housing code regulations that make the construction of tiny houses much harder.

So many opportunities diverted by those furthering religion with Tax Dollars.

    Fellow Unbelievers:

Good to see some friction of MAGA vs. MAHA. If only they could distract and paralyze each other and leave the rest of us to pursue our own Greatness and Health.:
