    Have a great week everyone!!

“Nobody can tell me what is right and what is wrong; what is righteous and what is evil. Even if there is a god and I had his teachings right before me, I would think it through and decide if that was right or wrong myself.”

Sounds like a pleasant way to enjoy Sunday morning 🙂

Heavy rains here today, very humid. Went to the gym to use the dreadmill but only managed a slow 5k as it was still too humid to push it. I think it is warmer in Ottawa than in Florida.

I think it should be pointed out that the Australian trying to change our currently quite OK religious discrimination laws is Scott Morrison, our Prime Minister.

Good old Scott also belongs to one of the more irritating bunch of Happy Clappers,  Pentacostals I think.

Scott’s government has the numbers to change the existing law. In brief, he intends to allow churches and  church schools especially to discriminate against anyone on doctrinal differences. EG No church will be obliged to allow gays as members or to perform same sex marriages. They will be able to discriminate in employment and  for example be able to reject the children of gays etc in their schools.

Our PM (for whose party I did not vote) wants to legalise bigotry .He’s an ignorant  arsehole . I am outraged that  he is allowed to use his his personal superstitions when governing my country. A pox on him and his party .

For those who may be unaware: Under the Parliamentary form of government, the Prime Minster is not elected. He/she is an elected politician who is also the head of his/her party. The leader of the party who wins government is automatically Prime Minister. He/she can be removed at any time by their party. This has happened  in Australia six times in the last ten years.

The Prime Minister  is our head of government, but is neither our Commander In Chief nor  Head Of State. Our head of State is Queen Elizabeth.
