This article is super-interesting.  Life is what happens when inert matter starts processing resources in order to promote its own survival.  That’s basically the starting axiom of my evolutionary ethics model.

They say the organism is processing information, which includes resources, and how to find resources.  I think it’s the other way round: information is a kind of resource, because it helps the organism to find the physical resources that it needs.

@simon – You should find a copy of “What is Life” by Schrödinger. He was based in Dublin and gave a talk on it at Trinity College in 1943/44. His original question, How does matter store information well enough to reproduce itself?, was basically an intellectual fuse-wire and DNA later became the detonation.

I went to a 3 day set of lectures to celebrate the event , 75 years later in 2018.  Schrödinger didn’t know DNA, didn’t know base pairing, but he got the architecture right. He replaced “vitalism” with physics-constrained information. Most modern life-theories are arguably extensions of that same question: When does information become meaning?

Dan Dennett was the guest speaker and there were several Nobel winners from around the world who were all trying to answer that same question.

All living things have electrical and chemical energy coursing round their bodies.  When they die, this activity ceases.  Yet they are not born dead, they are born alive, taking their natural living processes from their mothers.  We can’t just jump start a bunch of inanimate matter and expect it to start walking around.  The processes of life in fact form a chain back to the earliest RNA molecules in the primeval soup, or whatever was there.

No matter what Trump does his not so maganda MAGA’S excuse him. Is there any lacuna of judgment for the Epstein shit if he is found to have been severely degenerate? I mean i don’t know but essentially he can do as he pleases at the helm. Perhaps the economy and the abdication of cherished civil rights or maybe this fucking Venezuela disgrace will be his undoing. But whether the hard core followers will ever stop the spin and tongue up the ass remains to be seen.

The lefties are just as hopeless. If the lefties were unindoctrinated about the whole kit and kaboodle including but not necessarily limited to oppressor/oppressed, multiculturalism, cultural relativism and certainly Palestinianism and how they have been manipulated by the most base and unabashed forms of hatred that one might imagine they’d find repulsive would they apply the lessons and question thier other nonsensical beliefs?
