I just witnessed a freaky thing. Went to the river to get in a quick workout up and down a steep hill. There was a baptism in progress. They were hooting and hollering-going wild! Is that normal for a baptism? I would have guessed it is like a tennis match…quiet please…thank you…ya know a perceived solemn occasion.

There are a great many reasons reviews are unreliable or in need of interpretation.

So it is Consumer Reports or the like but you won’t find physicians or restaurant ratings. Physicians is a really big area. You or a loved one has a life-threatening condition. You need some specialist/surgeon and have no clue the competence of the physician.…[Read more]

  I’m actually not sure how artificial consciousness, created by humans, should be experimentally created before we even understand consciousness well. It would be unethical to experiment with other, human (and animal, imo) consciousness without consent unless there are extenuating circumstances where experts (and family) feel it would be best…
