Thanks for the info about music copyrights.
I know nothing about music copyrights. I’ve never heard of ‘reactors’ before. (and don’t care to) I am more familiar with comix copyrights.
I used to have a site about underground comix. I posted several hundred comix covers (that is book covers, .JPGs, not music).
I felt a single page, the cover, was…[Read more] -

‘Holding back the years’ I have a feeling the theater acoustics are better than the studio acoustics.

Thanks for posting “All About Da Bass” Pope.
I like the PMJ version. Hate the original.
It was used in an ad for online bingo recently. “All About The (something)” Ugh.

If this performance doesn’t raise a few hairs, check your pulse. Perfection captured.

The original recording and video of the song are great indeed but here is a live band with a real audience, firing on all 8 cylinders.

@ Unapologetic
The term torch song comes from the expression “carrying a torch” for someone. Here’s a definition of the expression: “Carrying a torch” for someone is a figurative expression that means to harbor strong, often unrequited, feelings of love or admiration for a love interest. It implies a devotion and passion that burns brightly, like…[Read more]

This flash mob kicks ass.
But I’ll always like the Fantasia version best.
Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue moves me.
As does Tubular Bells. I’ve never seen ‘The Exorsist’. But I played the Tubular Bells album all the time, and roomates at the time accused me of…[Read more] -

As teenager I’ve heard the terms ‘Torch Song’ and ‘Torch Singer’ but didn’t know what they meant. I didn’t recognize anything I was familiar with in those terms. And I didn’t care enough to ask anybody. But when I went to see Woody Allen’s movie ‘Annie Hall’ and watched Diane Keaton sing, I was moved.
I think I broke my own…[Read more]

I’ve already posted elsewhere the second video that’s below. But I want to showcase how PMJ, as PMJ typically does, can ingeniously rearrange a famous song, and add fantastic talent and humor to the set as well.
First, the original song. It has over 2-1/2 billion views so far:
Now the PMJ rearrangement, with two of…[Read more]

“1. Gives (you) goosebumps and or teary eyes almost every time.”
I can’t say this gives me goosebumps every time, as I’ve only heard it once.

And you are laghing! I can’t judge it if you keep inserting your idiotic opinion every 5 seconds.
OK, I didn’t predict this. I completely understand where you’re coming from. I would feel the same way sometimes, if I hadn’t watched the original version first. In this case, I’ve heard the Puddles/PMJ version so many times, a…[Read more]

@ Reg
Rory inspired me to drink a half a bottle of Jameson and do a line of coke.
More seriously, Rory was a monster on guitar, though looking at PB’s conditions, to remind you:
1. Gives (you) goosebumps and or teary eyes almost every time.
2. (You) can learn something musically deep, technical, or explanatory wrt why (you) really like it.You…[Read more]

Some artists, management, or labels are paranoid about any presentation of the artist/artists work which they can’t control and/or directly monetize.
Rick Beato has pointed out how shortsighted this is.
The Warning has taken the opposite approach to the extent that I’ve seen reactors play a song all the way through and react to it afterward,…[Read more]

This version?
Thanks for posting that Reg.
I still don’t like it, but it doesn’t piss me off like the constantly interrupted version did.

Spend some time listening to Rory Gallagher and you will be inspired. It could be his heavy blues or something like this, a song that gets me almost every time I hear it (Especially after some good weed).
Just look at the guitar and you will hit the play button 🙂
