I don’t know how you got impression others are not worried or bothered by the Maggot trajectory.

I was singularly unimpressed by Scaramucci. Ethnic NY Italian section is really cool. But in terms of offering a reasoned basis for optimism in ANYTHING he said. No siree. Sir nope. Great Depression. Civil War. Ok. So what? Challenges are so different from those eras. Civil War is more apt. Even so it is a different world and different dynamics at play. I am not saying USA is going to become a dictatorship. IDK.

Scroogamoochie did say something about independents in the Senate shifting balance of power. And maybe. But just as likely if we even have elections or a traditional prez election the pendulum will swing left like a mofo and we will be overrepresented by their ilk. Oh for a centrist party that emphasizes what is best about the American experiment!

I was thinking how mirror image the far left and far right.

Racism: That is obvious on the right. Trump and his demagoguery. Throwing out so many who should not be thrown out. They’re killing the dogs, they’re killing the cats of the people that live there. Love that song. No idea why. He has dog whistled the far right hate groups.

On the left we have explicit and unmistakable Jew hatred. It is so off the chain. I won’t elaborate. I think i mentioned the history or racism in fascism through the German Nazi experiment. The hierarchy of purity to Jewity. If you are not the ideal blue eyed, blond haired Nordic German you are not the shit. And if you are an untermensch Jew you need to be killed. Far left exact opposite. If you are White you are privileged and not worthy like the indigenous whatever, people of color, trans etc. (of course in their wisdom if you happen to be in a protected class and are born into a scum filth degenerate Muslim culture then fuck you. Burn in hell and we won’t make a peep. They can’t sympathize with any of the victims of Islam or it would eliminate their evil Jew ideology and their sucking face with Islamists & their cultural relativism.)

And then of course the lefty scum are continuing the moronic German ideology and racist play book overall of positing innate characteristics for certain ethnicities or races. History and human nature be damned.

Anti democratic: The Maggot aspect could not be more obvious to a high school student. Why elaborate.

The lefty scum are causing or have caused the right to move further right. Heil Trump! The lefty scum have invited Islamic scum to flourish in our society and make political inroads. The nature of Islam is to seek POWER. lefties are accommodating that project. Further the left want to put a cap on capitalism and some are for socialism and others apparently for communism. Both sides are seeking a departure from democratic norms. But not in an intelligent way like say no more campaign contributions from…nope in destructive ways.

The U.S. Postal Service and the power to establish post roads were explicitly set up in the U.S. Constitution, it’s postal rates are approved by Congress, it’s Postmaster is approved by the U.S Government. And after it got cheaper competition from Lysander Spooner’s Letter Mail Carrying Company, the U.S. Government outlawed private letter mail compaies. And how could Trump weaponize The U.S. Post Office if it wasn’t a Government Agency?

Opposing Trump is going to require that people get it together on basic facts.

Offhand, I’d say that the quotidian choice of how to send letter mail, what products I purchase from companies abroad, choice of news in broadcast and streaming media, and choice of safe foods and medicines is far more important than choices made only every 2, 4, or 6 years. Opponents of Trump need to focus on how his diktats are affecting choices of day-to-day life.

All true. but not news. We know the Supremes are stacked in Trump’s favor on many issues.

What will be news is when Mitch McConnell comes out of his hidey hole, sees his shadow, and is healthy enough to help lead a charge against Trump’s many machinations. That is real “proof of life.”

Or, if not Mitch, any other Senator or Congressperson who will stop sitting on their hands and provide real opposition and get back to their Constitutional role as a check on Executive power.

Real news will be when broadcast networks will lawyer up and fight against Trump threatening their licenses for content he doesn’t like.

Real News will be when Bari Weiss can have some efficacy and get the rest of CBS on her side on anything, make “60 Minutes” the bulldog of The Forth Estate again, and then stand against Trump’s mollycoddling of the world’s worst dictators.

Real news will be when FOX News, OAN, and NewSmack ask and can get MAGA followers to ask: “Where’s the Tariff check from the ‘so much winning’ and the DOGE check from all that Musk supposedly saved?”

I listened. First thing is that guy is not a good speaker. Perspicutiy score is not good. I imagine those who have not been listening and are sans legal background come away scratching their heads.

Ok forgive my being obtuse but why will the administration prevailing here disproportionatley hose democrats? And if it is true can’t democrats take steps now to insure they will be able to vote? And in fact if this is as it appears a flagrant violation of the constituion that Trump is seeking isn’t that going to be greater impetus to vote? Get apathetic voters off the couch?

Trump never had any intention of honoring the constitution. Pretty clear, right? So if this is unsuccessful it will result in an end around. Success here won’t insure an honest election. i have a feeling the greater significance of this shadow docket decision is not the ruling itself and the immediate impact on the franchise; rather it is the elasticity of our institutions and their ability to check rogue elements, namely the would be dictator. Will we be a nation of laws in which no individual is owed fealty at the expense of our democracy?
