@ Robert – Yes, after all the years of theists considering themselves to be “practicing Christians”, it is clear that they are not very good at it.  They would be better off trying something else. But for most of them now it is no longer about religion but about power. It is not just in the USA. I would say the same of Brazil and even Australia and many smaller nations too.

Thanks for the article Unseen. I agree with you and I think this is just the start of it…..or rather a noticeable leap in their step by step attack over the last few decades.  We are dealing with fascists! I might investigate if they got “donations” from Russian fascists after some of the visits to the other Pope, Pope Krill by various Evangelical (aka Christian Nationalists) visits.

Not that this makes the leaked memo any better, but, IIRC, the leaked memo specifically said they wouldn’t even touch Obergefell v. Hodges, the case that legalized same-sex marriage.

And…pretty sure any Supreme Court with Justice Thomas in it will not touch Loving v. Virginia, the 1968 case that struck down State laws against interracial marriages. Just sayin’.

The Supremes disregarded the Ninth Amendment throughout almost the entire history of the U.S. This memo won’t make any difference on the Ninth. They’ll do whatever they’re going to do on unenumerated individual rights, which is the real pity of all of this.

Interesting Pop-Up Video Factoid: Mrs. Mildred Loving, the wife in the case of Loving v. Virginia, said even before Obergefell that the Court’s logic regarding her own case applied equally to same-sex marriage.

Now what the State of Louisiana wants to do by making abortion into literal murder is really awful and if other States follow suit, this could put the U.S. into the same territory as Nicolai Ceauşescu’s Romania. Must wait and see and keep your powder dry…
