This is a draft copy of Sunday School and under a press embargo!

Tell me why I should disagree with the SCOTUS decision in the Christian Flag case. Is it allowing further religious creep into the public square? Judges have a tendency to be too credulous when it comes to matters of faith. Tell me why the KKK won’t now be able to hoist flags on government flagpoles?
I am looking forward to seeing which flag TST will apply to raise while its fight over abortion rights is unsuccessful so far.
The secular defense against the assault on reproductive rights by Christian Nationalists. America is not ready to be a Christian nation. No, I don’t suppose it is. There is good reason to keep it that way.
The Evangelical power grab to overturn Roe would harm the people that are unable to end an unwanted pregnancy. It’s time to apply the Lemon Test to check for religious favoritism so let’s not fail to see the bigger picture because Religious liberty for only one religion is not religious liberty.
The Satanic Temple are more progressive than Jesus ever was. Maybe if they get to fly their flag high enough and for long enough then America will refill the gaps in its Wall of Separation.
Report finds only 6% of UK adults identify as practicing Christians. Australia wants to make its Religious Bill legal before it looks at any LGBTQ protections.

Thanks, Reg!!May 8, 2022 at 12:45 pm #42894
Your very welcome Strega. I managed to contain my cussing this week. I am now going for a 4 hour walk to take in some warm and windy fresh air. Uitwaaein as the Dutch call it. (pronounced “out-vie-in”).May 8, 2022 at 12:54 pm #42895
So basically ‘Out vs In’
I’ll probably be able to remember that 🙂May 8, 2022 at 1:55 pm #42896
President Joe Biden encouraged people of different religious traditions to “join me in asking for God’s continued guidance, mercy, and protection” in a White House proclamation released on Wednesday.
Of course, he did. Continued guidance, LOL. How misguided can you get? We are up to our armpits with morons. People seem to think atheists are elitists who look down on believers. Well YEAH!May 8, 2022 at 5:16 pm #42897
My contribution this week:
From the article:
Undoing Roe v. Wade and eliminating the right to abortion access opens up the door to dismantling other rights that have previously been protected under that implied right to privacy. That can include the right to same-sex marriage and interracial marriage, as well as the right to decide certain aspects of your child’s education, Bae said.

Old Uncle Joe who’s moving kinda slow at The Junction would tell you: “C’mon, Man! If God doesn’t exist, how do you explain Boost, Jello Pudding, and Hoveround? Check and Mate, Atheists!” 😁
Then Krunkt Kacklin’ Kammie would cite Genesis 1:28 “I have given you all the seed-bearing plants and herbs to use…” 🌿😎
Jen Psaki would Psay you are a Pskeptic Pscoundrel who needs fo Psee a Psychologist of maybe even a Psycho-animalist.🤪
Finally, the new Ministry of Truth head Nina Jankowitz would sing in show-tune style that you are practicing “Misinformation/Disinformation/Malinformation” and order you to report to Room 101 for an “arithmatic lesson.” 🥶😱

This is the victory in Ukraine that Putin will celebrate tomorrow.May 8, 2022 at 6:13 pm #42902
@ Robert – Yes, after all the years of theists considering themselves to be “practicing Christians”, it is clear that they are not very good at it. They would be better off trying something else. But for most of them now it is no longer about religion but about power. It is not just in the USA. I would say the same of Brazil and even Australia and many smaller nations too.May 8, 2022 at 8:30 pm #42903
Thanks for the article Unseen. I agree with you and I think this is just the start of it…..or rather a noticeable leap in their step by step attack over the last few decades. We are dealing with fascists! I might investigate if they got “donations” from Russian fascists after some of the visits to the other Pope, Pope Krill by various Evangelical (aka Christian Nationalists) visits.May 9, 2022 at 2:23 am #42906
Not that this makes the leaked memo any better, but, IIRC, the leaked memo specifically said they wouldn’t even touch Obergefell v. Hodges, the case that legalized same-sex marriage.
And…pretty sure any Supreme Court with Justice Thomas in it will not touch Loving v. Virginia, the 1968 case that struck down State laws against interracial marriages. Just sayin’.
The Supremes disregarded the Ninth Amendment throughout almost the entire history of the U.S. This memo won’t make any difference on the Ninth. They’ll do whatever they’re going to do on unenumerated individual rights, which is the real pity of all of this.
Interesting Pop-Up Video Factoid: Mrs. Mildred Loving, the wife in the case of Loving v. Virginia, said even before Obergefell that the Court’s logic regarding her own case applied equally to same-sex marriage.
Now what the State of Louisiana wants to do by making abortion into literal murder is really awful and if other States follow suit, this could put the U.S. into the same territory as Nicolai Ceauşescu’s Romania. Must wait and see and keep your powder dry…

When I heard about 2000 Mules, I thought they had come out with a version of 20 Mule Team Borax that was 100 times more powerful.
I thought: Damn! That’ll not only make your laundry shine, but it’ll go supernova! 😁May 9, 2022 at 8:26 pm #42919
Yeah, but no animals were hurt during the making of this real-life documentary! 🙂
