Fellow Unbelievers:

I’m in NC, down South from all of this, but on Independence Night, I experienced a sample of what’s going on in The Great White North. That night, I smelled burnt gunpowder and paper and smoky air the whole drive home from work, all caused from the fireworks.

I later heard Trump’s fireworks made D.C. air quality the worst on the Planet for the duration of that show! It also added shot fireworks litter to the algae-filled, poorly remodeled Reflecting Pool.

Also, I observed some pet-owners in my store buying tranquilizer-laced peanut butter for their dogs, to keep the pets calm during the local fireworks. I learned that Zoo animals in Washington had to be taken to an indoor enclosure so they wouldn’t panic and stampede from the noise.

All this got me to thinking something I never thought as a kid during past Independence Days: Maybe we’d be better off with holographic laser light shows instead of fireworks, either projected on giant screens or hillsides or done in another manner compatible with airplane safety.

We could not only project fireworks, but maybe reinacted scenes from the great battles of The American Revolution, or best yet, the texts of The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution and The Bill of Rights. It would be both entertaining and educational, and all done without air pollution, fire hazards, and traumatizing noise.

Something to consider if we last another 250 years.

Pretty cool it is free online. My memory was inaccurate. Stories not plays. I think i read Irish playwrights around same time. It is weird how something stays with us from what we’ve read. At least it does with me. Pops up seemingly random basis. As a kid i really enjoyed stories from 1001 Arabian Nights. Pretty sure some of those would come right back. Read a few paragraphs of first story in Dubliners and it did not register.

Anyways a good walk unspoiled to you.

Jake – you might enjoy reading some of works by John Banville. He can have an unusual way with words that catches one off guard. His imagery is great. The landscape is being filtered through memory, grief, vanity, jealousy or desire. A cloud, a reflection in glass, a room at dusk or the surface of the sea tells us as much about the observer as about the object observed. The world remains sensuously beautiful while human beings suffer, and nature does not alter its appearance to acknowledge our grief. If you don’t already know of his works then The Sea is a great start and a good end if you only read one of his books.

As a kid i really enjoyed stories from 1001 Arabian Nights. Pretty sure some of those would come right back.

Did your teachers or parents teach the back-story of why Sherherazade told her 1000 Tales? More than a collection of kid’s stories, it was an act of resistance and survival, still an inspiration and possible useful tactic for the victims of religion-supported ideology-backed oppression today!

I read em out of the Harvard Classics. Can’t remember but i assume there was some sort of preface or introduction that explained the background. Or maybe i asked my dad. idk. At this point the residue is simply of good stories.

Oh, Jake! You have yet another great reason to read the work again!

One Thousand and One Nights is an originally Eighth to Fourteenth Century work of resistance to tyranny and misogyny that hailed from the Islamic world and prevailed despite Islam!

This work combines and compiles many types of literature (even Science-Fiction and, as you’ll see, Modern Cuckold Porn.) It has been translated to many languages and has inspired writers, poets, singers, musicians, composers, playwrights, game makers, film producers, and fans worldwide!

It starts with a King named Shahryar (yes, the pronunciation is the same as the Islamic Law code.) Shahryar rules a kingdom that spans from Persia to India. He and his brother King Shâhzamân both have wives who committed adultery with black slaves and both Kings have their wives and slaves murdered.

Shahryar becomes especially embittered with the female sex and acts out his woman-hatred by marrying a virgin from his kingdom every day and slaughtering her the next morning.

The Vizier to Shahryar is ordered to daily procure virgins for Shahryar, but can no longer find virgins. The Vizier’s daughter, Scheherazade, offers herself as a bride to Shahryar, tells a wedding night tale to Shahryar, but deliberately doesn’t complete it. Shahryar is so impressed with the story, he spares Shaherazade until the next night. The next night, she completes the tale but starts another related tale, which she also doesn’t complete.

Each morning thereafter, Shahryar spares Scheherazade from murder and listens to yet another tale later that night.

Ablute, rinse, and repeat for 1001 nights.

Scheherazade not only saves her own life with her multi-disciplinary education and cleaverness, but she saves all the virgins of her kingdom. Her scholarly prowess also reforms King Shahryar from a vengeful woman-hating serial murderer to a just and stable and happy king!

Yes, reforming the King is sheer fantasy and Scheherazade could have easily lullaby-ed Shahryar to sleep and shived him, but the epic story does illustrate the power of ideas to change the course of human events and it still effects them today.

Here’s the story of the stories that each launched countless other stories. Scheherazade still speaks!

Perhaps automated harvesting robots that don’t produce and spread feces and it’s pathogens, along with sterile sources of water, would be a big help here. Give AI something really useful to do, combined with sensors and robotics.

Ponder how improbable the outcome in which the most “liberal”, the ones who are most emphatic about anti-racism, anti-discrimination against LGBT and marginilized groups and oppressed groups are the most aligned with Islam. Islam, if there is a greater source, cause, wellspring of the ills that the far left group would want to extirpate or at least minimize i can’t point to it.

Instead the far left upholds, celebrates and makes sacrosanct the institution that is the cause of so much suffering and injustice. Don’t criticize it or you are a bigot/racist! Shout from the rooftop and in the streets in great numbers its moral supremacy and you are virtue signaling. “Globalize the intifada.” “Hamas freedom fighters.”

Censor speech that is critical of the most powerful and destructive cult on earth. Spread speech that furthers the interests of the cult. Shield feelings of the lefty cult members and their pets. Safe spaces. Voices in opposition or offering opinions that are inconsistent with beliefs or constructs of the lefty ideology are silenced. Jews who are demonized by Islam are similarly demonized by Lefty ideology and feelings/welfare of Jews don’t matter. Whereas those in protected status like gays, trans, people of color (puke descriptor) would not be handled similarly.

The anti-racism facade is thinly veiled racism on steroids. Think about similarity of left ideology to racism of fascism. I gotta go to Germany. There was an ideal man. Nordic, White, Christian pure German master race paradigm. Anyone who did not fit in that description was by degrees tainted. The Jew was the nadir and nonhuman that was so odious and such an obstacle to a better world that the final solution was undertaken by Millions of Germans.

Lefty ideology simply reverses the racism by positing Whites as bottom of the barrel inherently evil (privileged) and Jews are for no good or legit reason White. For the Germans Jews were not White like Germans and needed to be exterminated. For the Lefty’s Jews are White and the Arab/Muslim project to kill the one tiny Jewish state and as many Jews as possible is “resistance”.

Lefty’s have learned absolutely nothing. Moronic. Insidious. Demented. Infantile. And those are the positives. To carry on the fiction of good guy/bad guy world view and ignore history and human nature is just too pathetic to stomach. But what choice do we have?
