Did you know that having a Bible signed by Roy Moore is like being healed by Jesus? Such a valuable book could then be donated to a museum.

A man accidentally shot himself and his wife in Church during a discussion on Church shootings.

The Jehovah Witness cult keep wanting to save souls but they continue to destroy the lives of the victims of their pedophilia regime. Another megachurch founder is accused of child molestation while a church in North Carolina is back in the news for kidnapping children. Funny how some Christians were quick to judge Harvey Weinstein but are still prepared to back Roy Moore. I suppose that is what you get when the standard for your morality is derived from the Bible. What would the Cuddly One have to say about it all when a bishop considers sexual abuse of minors to be a spiritual encounter with his god or that some children consented to the assault? As an atheist you can help to protect Mormon children from predators.

    Have a great week everyone!!

While driving through Alabama yesterday I saw a poster that read “Judge Roy Moore for Senate”. I think it is a good idea that we all do.

Not to nit pick the articles, but calling Roy Moore a pedophile just isn’t right (unless he has a sexual interest in prepubescent children, see wikipedia: pedophilia, but that’s not what it sounds like in the articles). The correct terms would be hebephilia and ephebophilia. For some reason, it annoys me when people misuse the word pedophile like this because, in my mind, there is a HUGE difference between someone molesting a 6 year old vs a 16 year old.

At the flat earth society meeting they had folks attending from all over the globe.

I agree Matt on the technicality of the wording. I do not see “a HUGE difference between someone molesting a 6 year old vs a 16 year old”. I would consider both of them to be defenseless against a devious 32 year old who had planned the attack in advance by grooming the victims over a period of time. Even if it was just a “spur of the moment” crime I do not see how a 16 years old teenager is less damaged than how a 6 year old would be (or vice versa).

Roy Moore appears to be a repeat offender and I would not leave either a 6 or a 16 year old alone in the same room with him. We should also remember the girl in question was 14 at the time the 32 year old Moore assaulted her. I think many victims of sexual abuse identify with each other because they understand the trauma each other went through. That trauma may be very similar to them despite the “difference” in the level of abuse they endured or the age they were when they were abused.

    Yes, molesting is molesting.

I have to disagree… if a 6 year old is molested, they don’t understand what’s going on. They are confused and damaged in their most formative years. A 16 year old, on the other hand, should understand what is happening and why it is wrong, and is also far more mentally developed than the 6 year old. As such, I’d go as far as to say the younger the molestee, the more heinous the crime.

Also, I chose 16 because the article I read said Roy Moore was accused by several people, up to the age of 16. Even if untrue, my points still stand.

Not true Matt. I didn’t understand what happened to me until I was 30. Even as a teenager who should “know better “….I didn’t. Because it was just “normal.” I didn’t know any different. And the same goes for a ton of women I know.

@matt – I don’t really understand your point, in that I think it’s not a thing.  If you could rank girls who have been molested in order of how fucked up it made them, you wouldn’t necessarily see a simultaneous progression in age.  In other words, nobody can say that a younger girl is going to be more fucked up than an older girl.  It completely would depend on the individual.

Ok guys, I’m happy to disagree on this point. Regardless, the definition of pedophilia is an attraction to prepubescent children, and thus cannot reasonably be applied above the age of 12 (usually lower).

@Belle – Did you receive a comprehensive sex education? Either in school, or from your family? If not, then I wouldn’t expect you to “know better”. Comprehensive sex education is as important to help children recognise unacceptable behaviour as it is to help children avoid unwanted pregnancies and diseases.

@simon – Who said anything about girls (other than Roy Moore, of course)? I’m talking about children.

I don’t honestly know but I’m saying that it doesn’t matter how old you are. You can be 30 with the mentality of a 13 year old.
