No, they have “categorized” themselves as criminals. If you are behaving as an agent against the tribe of humanity, you will be stopped from further victimization as the first step. Yeah, Unseen you didn’t address my argument or provide anything like a solution beyond “everything goes” and an assertion that no one is accountable for their shitty behavior. On the other hand free will or its permutations are kind of irrelevant. We always live our lives in a way that feels like free will. And we respond for the most part to others as though they are responsible and accountable for their behavior. So it is really insignificant in an issue like homelessness.Let’s deconstruct…[Read more]

Or maybe the reactor I presented wasn’t convinced by the live performance he had already seen and maybe he’s someone who’s more swayed by official studio videos than live videos (I’m the opposite). It seems to me that he finally got it in the official video he is reacting to.
I’m a little reminded of a situation from my photography…[Read more]

If you live in a world where everything has a cause, then we’re all in the same boat and are doing whatever antecedent events cause us to do. I know it’s hard to give up the idea that both the hero and the drug addict have no real control over what they do, but it’s the truth.
Free will isn’t proven? Case closed. It can’t be proven…[Read more]

I have said that watching someone who has no idea what they are in for discover The Warning is like being present when someone has their first orgasm and seeing their whole world change in front of your eyes. Now and then, I’ll stumble on a music reactor listening to a TW tune not knowing what to expect and not expecting much. Here is a recent…[Read more]

We’re back to, belileve it or not, the free will issue. People do what they do because they have to, due to the causal chains that led up to their current situation. As I’ve pointed out, the reason for wanting to believe in free will has to do with wanting to engage in the game (and it is a game) of praise and blame.
You clearly are…[Read more]

Experienced rock musician answers the question “Is The Warning worth the hype?” and also makes some observations on women in rock (not mansplaining at all). He does have one criticism of a sort in that he wishes to hear a guitar solo. I’ll explain to him why that’s a vain hope. This band plays for fans not other…[Read more]

@ Enco and Robert
How about stopping slamming the homeless with broad strokes based on some cases, some things one has seen, some things one’s preferred sources have told them. That’s all irrelevant and a good way to reach a wrong broad strokes opinion. Opinions aren’t facts. Each homeless person’s situation is.

You start with the fallacy of composition: The fallacy of composition is a logical error that involves assuming that parts or members of a whole will have the same properties as the whole. This leads to wrong conclusions because what is true of the different parts is not necessarily true of the whole. Arguments of composition rest on the i…[Read more]

So, you agree that the same sleight of hand by the PTB happens here as well, the difference being only one of degree and better PR.

To truly understand the importance and specialness of The Warning, you need to realize that while they are not the most technically adept band (Japan is crawling with bands playing at astronomical levels of musicianship, and then there’s Rush), I would say that no band EVER—not even The Beatles—were as good at writing memorable, singable, and hum…[Read more]

The term torch song comes from the expression “carrying a torch” for someone. Here’s a definition of the expression: “Carrying a torch” for someone is a figurative expression that means to harbor strong, often unrequited, feelings of love or admiration for a love interest. It implies a devotion and passion that burns brightly, like…[Read more]
