Another amateur recording of the new song “More.” The audio isn’t all that much better than the one above (if at all), but the video is much better. Can’t wait to enjoy this song in a professionally-done version either “official video” or “live” if they can do another live recording at the same level of quality as their Teatro Metropolitan recordings. The official release date for the song is less than 2 weeks away. May 12.

I dislike audience audio so much, I’ll wait for a professional version. It seems the main reason they get posted must be to relive the “I was there” or “We were there” moments, or for the few unique or novel live moments. Like Pau’s scream of destruction in Evolve.
I heard or read that a group-produced More mix is coming soon, and I thought it’d be up by now, but I don’t see it. I much prefer their live shows that are professionally recorded over their fully produced videos, with audience audio much more just a background annoyance. The version of Evolve that was produced from (11?) iPhones and a drone during covid’s drought of live shows is exceptionally produced! I love it, especially without the audience. Other, quick/flashy cuts and other highly produced moments don’t (e.g.) give me time to actually watch how instruments are played or see how the musicians interact with each other during longer moments. You know, like Austin City Limits live production quality.
I subscribe to Tidal for their high definition and remastered versions of music. My LG L405 phone has exceptionally high quality audio, so the only bottleneck in quality is when I don’t listen with my studio headphones. Even the phone’s bluetooth has AptX HD quality. (It’s not as good as wired quality, but it’s relatively high quality, with mobile listen-anywhere convenience.)
I can’t wait for audience-free or audience-muted versions of More to come out, either!

The new song will be released May 12. I presume that means with some sort of “pro” video, either “official” (studio setting) or well-produced “live.” I prefer their well-produced live videos like the ones recorded in the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (Metropolitan Theater of Mexico City). This one was also recorded in Mexico City, but I’m not sure of the venue. For an outdoor live video, both the audio and video are up to a pretty high standard. BTW, Dsny has perfected a terrific sneer. Her facial expressions and hand gestures contribute a lot to the band’s stage presence.
May 7, 2023 at 9:04 pm #48146Thanks a lot Unseen, you just cost me a couple of hours. Where’s our musician @robert? He should be here by now, mocking our obsession.
I wanted to post a longer, more relevant response, but don’t want to take attention away from Sunday School.
May 7, 2023 at 9:33 pm #48147Maybe they could tour with Hello Mary who are still evolving but I think have good potential.

LOL, I think they play really well and have some interesting riffs. It’s good to hear young people writing and playing guitar-based rock. Besides playing local shows, I have been writing dozens of songs for various singers this year. I have sold several with all rights.

Well, prepare to lose more time. Here is their song “Martirio” (Martyr) which looks to me like a candidate for a classic rock anthem. It’s one of their Spanish language songs.
May 8, 2023 at 5:07 pm #48151Here’s the thing for me when it comes to this band. a) They are all expert instrumentalists* and can sing three part harmony, b) they are excellent songwriters**, c) they have an astounding level of charisma, and d) they are just so “man bites dog* (“An all-sisters power trio from where did you say?”).
* Trained in classical piano from a very early age.
** Their songs are developed collaboratively but Pau is the one who usually initiates the process with a song idea.

I couldn’t easily find an official translation from the band, so I went to ChatGPT, which seems to agree with other comments I saw. They’re talking to a martyr or all martyrs? Focusing on the darkness of their fate, and the last line finally clarifies the previous lines: “Your sad life, foolish martyr, say goodbye”.

Here are the lyrics to Martirio along with the running translation verse by verse:
A veces las cosas obvias son las más difíciles de ver
Te asfixiaste con tus propias manos
Cuando todo apunta a que por fin alguien te viene a rescatar
Te encuentras nuevamente abandonadoSometimes the obvious things are the hardest to see
You suffocated with your own hands
And when everything points to someone finally coming to rescue you
You find yourself forsaken againEn tu martirio, ahógate
Es tu destino, entrégateIt’s your martyrdom, drown on it
It’s your fate, surrenderIntentas buscar explicación en lo profundo de tu ser
Y vuelves a caer en el vacíoYou try to find an explanation in the depths of your being
Just to fall back again into the voidAl fin te das cuenta en secreto que el dolor se quedará
Sеrá tu nueva vida de martirio
Ya no hay vuelta atrás, no puеdes escapar del fuego a tus pies
Y en la oscuridad, te perderásIn the end, you silently realize the pain will stay
It will be your new martyrdom life
There’s no coming back, you can’t escape the fire at your feet
Yet, in the darkness you’ll get lostEn tu martirio, ahógate
Es tu destino, entrégateIt’s your martyrdom, drown on it
It’s your fate, surrenderA veces las cosas obvias son las más difíciles de ver
En tu martirio, ahógate
Es tu destino, entrégateSometimes the obvious things are the hardest to see
It’s your martyrdom, drown on it
It’s your fate, surrenderAprende de los que sufrieron
Si hay que vivir en miedo
Es mejor morir en manos de un adiós
Tu vida triste mártir tonto di adiósLearn from those who suffered
If you have to live in fear (then)
It’s better to die at the hands of a farewell
Your sad life, foolish martyr, say goodbye.May 10, 2023 at 1:26 am #48163The Warning wasn’t put together in a day. They are the product of an evolution that started when they were quite young. I read that someone made a comment on one of their videos that their family abused the girls along the lines of the Jackson family, grooming them for stardom in the hope of using them to get rich. Me? If you watch interviews with the girls, they are in control and their parents are along for the ride. They are happy. They love each other and their parents. They show every sign of coming from a healthy and supportive family whose only motivation seems to be helping the girls achieve their dream.
May 12, 2023 at 2:27 am #48187Dany and Pau are on the record that their younger sister is the most talented member of the group. I found this piece where Ale plays a complicated bass part pretty effing impressive. For players I note that while she plays with guitar picks occasionally, she mostly plays finger style as here:
May 12, 2023 at 3:45 pm #48193The official audio of their new song dropped (finally). These chicas just keep getting better. Can’t wait for an official video to go along with the audio.

LYRICS:
VERSE 1
There’s something pulling me away
Something criminal but I can’t fight it
Won’t you tell me what to say
Or pull me in and keep me nice and quietKeep me here
Closer
In the clearPRE-CHORUS
Just Kill the noise won’t you fill my void?
Give it all up won’t you feed my senses?CHORUS
You know you love it
You love it when I need you
Do you need me? YeahYou know I love it
I love when it when you feed me
Yet you leave me begging for moreVERSE 2
I feel it slowly creeping in
I find desire leaves me frozen, stranded
Waiting between what could’ve been
Why am I sinking when I’m fully groundedStanding still
Go in
For the killPRE-CHORUS
Just Kill the noise won’t you fill my void?
Give it all up won’t you feed my senses?CHORUS
You know you love it
You love it when I need you
Do you need me? YeahYou know I love it
I love when it when you feed me
Yet you leave me begging for moreBRIDGE
I want it and you know it
Starved but never show it
You like it when I’m broken
You like it when I’m brokenCHORUS
You know you love it
You love it when I need you
Do you need me? YeahYou know you love it
You love it when I need you
Do you need me? YeahYou know I love it
I love when it when you feed me
Yet you leave me begging for moreMay 19, 2023 at 1:54 am #48336Here’s a real surprise, a very good slow tempo tune with minimal instrumentation featuring Pau’s voice and her own lyrics. These girls seem able to put their mind to anything they want to. This is a lyric video that features only audio and lyrics, so don’t expect to see Pau and her sisters.
